Three days after Switzerland and Germany have played Ukraine and Spain respectively, the two teams meet at St Jakob Park in Basel, with the visitors' favorites to win this Nations League clash.
The pair are Group A4, which also contains heavyweight nations Spain and Ukraine, making this opening game all the more important. The Swiss have regularly been an unglamorous team at the international level, although this is a country who have made it to the knockout stage in three of the previous four World Cups and they more recently finished in the top four of the inaugural Nations League by winning a group that included Belgium. Vladimir Petkovic's side have played six matches since then, winning four of those to claim the top spot in their Euro 2020 qualifying group.
Likewise, Joachim Low will be keen to improve on his side's last campaign in this competition, having finished bottom of a three-team group containing France and the Netherlands. Germany are in a much better position now, though, thanks to seven wins in their last eight competitive matches, the exception being a 4-2 loss against the Dutch. But we have to take into consideration that Manuel Neuer, Joshua Kimmich, and Leon Goretzka have been given an extended break and Low might use this clash to field inexperienced players in the squad such as Kai Havertz, Suat Serdar, Jonathan Tah, and Robin Koch. So it is pretty clear it is not the german best team.

While the betting odds might suggest that Joachim Low’s side are favorites to win this clash, the manager has to be mindful that the domestic leagues are just about to start and it should be borne in mind that several Bayern Munich players are missing in action. But in the end, we think that hard game on the German side will prevail, therefore we predict a win for Germany and over 2.5 goals in the game.
So my final Switzerland vs Germany Prediction is Over 2.5 goals.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
