Pressure mounts on both coaches when Torino host bottom-placed Crotone at Stadio Grande Torino in their last match before the international break.
Reports in Italy have suggested the match at the Grande Torino this weekend could go a long way in deciding which coach loses his job first in Serie A this term. Torino has played two good games in recent weeks but is still conceding too many goals. Something that robbed them from an important win against Lazio last weekend, but Giampaolo eventually picked up his first three points against Genoa during the week.
This Week 3 fixture was postponed in early October due to the COVID outbreak at Genoa, which affected 17 players and five members of staff. Toro gave Amer Gojak his Serie A debut and Andrea Belotti passed a late fitness test after the shock 4-3 defeat to Lazio, a match they had been leading 3-2 at the 92nd minute. Toro took the lead when Edoardo Goldaniga tried to cut out a cross, but instead accidentally set it up for Sasa Lukic to fire in at the near bottom corner. Torino doubled their lead when Belotti rolled a ball across from the left and in an attempt to anticipate Lukic from five yards, Luca Pellegrini accidentally bundled into his net.
Scamacca scored his first-ever Serie A goal at the weekend in the Derby Della Lanterna and found the net again here, making the most of substitute Goran Pandev’s assist to blast in at the near post with his right boot.
Four points from six games are not where President Urbano Cairo expected to be when he secured the former Milan coach ahead of the season and another defeat ahead of the break could give them time to evaluate the situation in Turin. Cairo has reportedly returned to his home after having spent one week in the hospital with coronavirus. With Cairo in hospital, his team picked up their first win in Serie A against Genoa on Wednesday and climbed to 18th ahead of Serie A Week 7.
Torino (4-3-1-2): Sirigu; Vojvoda, Bremer, Lyanco, Rodriguez; Meite, Rincon, Linetty; Lukic; Verdi, Belotti
Suspended: none
Injured: Baselli, Izzo
Crotone has picked up one point in seven games so far, but midfielder Luca Cigarini stressed the Rossoblu is confident to turn things around. The newly-promoted guests are stuck in a rut and can’t seem to find a way out, as Giovanni Stroppa’s men have scored in all bar one game - a 2-0 defeat to Milan - this term and the point gained came against reigning champions Juventus.
Luis Muriel ensured Atalanta got back on track with an early brace, as they beat Crotone 2-1, but the hosts will rue missed opportunities. The Colombia international only played 45 minutes, but made a big impact, twice piercing Alex Cordaz’s goal. Nwankwo Simy, who was Serie B Capocannoniere last season, got Crotone back into it before half-time. They will regret a huge opportunity that Junior Messias fluffed when one-on-one with Marco Sportiello, especially as it was a gift of a backpass from Johan Mojica.
There were rumors Crotone was ready to fire Stroppa, but the club assured he will see out the whole season.
Crotone (3-5-2): Cordaz; Magallan, Marrone, Luperto; Pereira, Benali, Cigarini, Vulic, Reca; Messias, Simy
Suspended: none
Injured: Riviere, Dragus, Molina

Torino has a chance to turn around the season with the next match and win could be hugely important for their escape from the relegation zone. The home win is a preferable bet.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
