Torino and Genoa are improving under new coaches after neither side expected to be in a relegation dogfight 22 rounds into the Serie A season.
Davide Nicola hopes the Torino fightback from 3-0 down to hold Atalanta 3-3 can be a step forward in terms of self-belief. The game is never over until the final whistle.’ They had seemed doomed when trailing 3-0 by the 21st minute, but Andrea Belotti on the rebound from his saved penalty, a Bremer tap-in, and Federico Bonazzoli header on Simone Verdi’s free-kick turned the game on its head. This is the third time in Nicola’s three matches that Toro has completed a comeback to snatch a point. “Quite simply, the next step is for us to try taking the lead and see what we can do from there!” Nicola told the media.
The Granata does continue to leak goals at an alarming rate and conceded three in six minutes. “People always look at the final pass or situation that was misread, but when we concede a goal, it’s down to five or six different situations that were misread. They add up and it’s never just about an individual, but the whole team. “I do ask this team to defend in a different way to what they were accustomed to. I believe they can be aggressive and defend while going forward to attack their opponents.”
Torino (3-5-2): Sirigu; Bremer, Nkoulou, Izzo; Singo, Lukic, Mandragora, Rincon, Ansaldi; Zaza, Belotti
Suspended: None
Injured: Sanabria
Davide Ballardini has transformed Genoa and earned another big win, this time against Napoli, but the coach wasn’t entirely happy with their performance. Goran Pandev bagged an early brace against his former club and refused to celebrate, while Mattia Perin and the woodwork rescued them other than a Matteo Politano goal. Since replacing Rolando Maran, Ballardini has picked up 17 points from eight Serie A games on the Grifone bench. “Genoa could’ve done better on the ball at times this evening. We were indeed up against a great team, but we know how to control the tempo better than this. We’ve done it many times, but we weren’t as sharp as usual tonight,” the coach told media.
Ballardini was asked if he thought what might’ve happened had he been on the Genoa bench since the start of the season? “It means nothing. Genoa is proving that they have some very professional players, who can be relied upon and are a unit. When you have that and quality in there too, this is what you get. A team gains self-confidence with hard work, training, ideas and above all good results, because you can have all those other elements and no results, it won’t change your mentality.”
Genoa (3-5-2): Perin; Goldaniga, Radovanovic, Criscito; Zappacosta, Zajc, Rovella, Strootman, Czyborra; Destro, Pandev
Suspended: Badelj
Injured: Biraschi, Zapata

Genoa has lost all their last six Serie A meetings with Torino and just one of their most recent 37 trips to Turin, which was 3-2 in May 2009. Both teams to score is our most preferable betting option.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
