Inter Milan travel to meet Torino on Sunday afternoon in their pursuit of a first Scudetto in over a decade. Read our reasons for Torino vs Inter prediction and betting tips.
Davide Nicola said Torino ‘showed the right attitude in a difficult moment’ in their 4-2 loss at Crotone. Torino hadn't played the previous two games after a COVID outbreak hit the team. "More than the games, we paid a high price for a week of training that we missed. I can't complain about the performance today. I saw a team that wanted to take the result home," Nicola told the media. "We didn't handle every situation correctly, it's part of the game. We should not have conceded the fourth goal that way. The result is heavy considered what we produced." Antonio Sanabria came off the bench and scored in his debut. "I know Antonio, we've already worked together, but I am not unhappy with the performances of Zaza and Bonazzoli. Everyone can be important, I liked the attitude in a difficult match and a difficult moment for us. We had the correct determination to level the score.”
Torino captain Andrea Belotti has tested negative for coronavirus, but will most likely miss the match against Inter. The Granata striker has been out since February 23, when seven Torino players tested negative for COVID-19. He will undergo required medical examinations before he can return to training. Following his late red card in Crotone, midfield mainstay Tomas Rincon must serve a suspension for Torino, but Davide Nicola will be buoyed by the return of several first-teamers after they emerged from quarantine protocols. The Granata's COVID-19 outbreak seems to be subsiding, as Karol Linetty, Bremer and top scorer Andrea Belotti returned negative tests during the week, with both Wilfred Singo and Nicolas Nkoulou awaiting the results of re-tests before kickoff. Former Milan defender Ricardo Rodriguez would continue to deputize in the Toro back three, while Serbian midfielder Sasa Lukic could cover for Linetty again if needed. After scoring his first goal for the club, having returned from his brush with the virus, Antonio Sanabria is set to continue in the front pairing alongside Simone Zaza, with Belotti perhaps playing a part from the bench.
Torino: Sirigu; Izzo, Lyanco, Rodriguez; Vojvoda, Baselli, Mandragora, Lukic, Ansaldi; Zaza, Sanabria
Antonio Conte said Inter created more chances than Atalanta in the 1-0 win on Monday night. ‘We had big chances to score but wasted them’. The Beneamata picked up three important points against La Dea on Monday night and Conte was happy to have kept the gap at six points after seeing their direct rivals put pressure on them during the weekend. “We went back being six points clear,” Conte told media. “We played later and knew that our direct rivals had won in Verona, Juve had won against Lazio and they had come closer, and pressure will inevitably increase from now until the end. And also, we were playing against Atalanta, a team that takes points from the big teams. They are a difficult team, tough, and if you don’t prepare well the game risks leaving. In my opinion today, they prepared it more wisely than in previous games, maybe because they feared a bit the fact that we knew how to hurt them, and they were a little less vigorous than usual. They are three important points against an excellent team. Practically we detached Atalanta from the Scudetto battle, in the sense that we are 13 points clear.’’
Inter scored from their only shot on target against Atalanta, as Milan Skriniar found a way through the Orobici defense. Inter were compact and solid at the back, whilst Samir Handanovic pulled some great saves to keep Atalanta out too. Conte doesn’t want to take anything for granted and replied with a joke when the reporter asked if he feels he has a piece of the Scudetto in his pocket. “If I look in my pocket, I find €40,” he laughed. “I went to get petrol and I have €40 left. Having said that, we must continue. There are still two games before the break against Torino, entangled in the bottom half of the standings, and the other is against Sassuolo, who creates big problems for everyone. “We have to continue not thinking about what it was. Tomorrow, the lads will rest, we recharge our batteries and get ready.’’
After being sent for surgery on a torn meniscus, Inter boss Antonio Conte will be without midfielder Arturo Vidal. Christian Eriksen (knee) and Aleksandr Kolarov are doubtful ahead of the trip to Turin. If Eriksen is fit to start, the former Tottenham playmaker should come back in to replace Vidal, with the rest of the XI that faced Atalanta unlikely to change.
Inter: Handanovic; Skriniar, De Vrij, Bastoni; Hakimi, Barella, Brozovic, Eriksen, Perisic; Martinez, Lukaku

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
