It’s a huge Derby Della Mole, as Torino faces a battle for Serie A's survival, while Juventus struggle to stop their entire season from falling to pieces. Read our reasons for Torino vs Juventus prediction and betting tips.
There’s a sense of desperation around both clubs going into this clash, as Toro has lost three of their last four, although some of those were in the midst of a COVID outbreak. That has now passed and they have certainly improved their performances since Davide Nicola took over from Marco Giampaolo. The Granata never say die, as seen by fighting back from 3-0 down to draw 3-3 with Atalanta, then from 2-0 to beat Sassuolo 3-2. Torino defender Bremer insisted Juventus are ‘not doing well and it’s a good opportunity for us’ in the derby. “Davide Nicola is a great motivator and has started firing us up, but we also know that we have to step onto the pitch feeling calm and focused. We have great players on paper, but so far our performances and results on the pitch have not reflected that. I think we struggled also because we started the season with a new coach and a completely different playing style, but had very little pre-season preparation. Nobody needs to ask if Toro are motivated, because relegation would be a stain on us all.”
Bremer made his debut in a Turin Derby and it went well until the final minutes. “Walter Mazzarri proved that he believed in me and wasn’t afraid to start me in a derby, even if it was the toughest game and I hadn’t played until then. Fortunately, we managed a draw, because if we had lost that, I never would’ve forgiven myself. I lost the marking on Cristiano Ronaldo and he scored 1-1. I should’ve done better.”
Torino (3-5-2): Sirigu; Izzo, Bremer, Buongiorno; Vojvoda, Linetty, Rincon, Mandragora, Ansaldi; Sanabria, Belotti
Suspended: None
Injured: Lyanco, Singo
Juve, on the other hand, is in crisis mode after crashing out of the Champions League and then losing 1-0 at home to relegation-threatened Benevento. Andrea Pirlo still hasn’t found a precise identity for his team. Paulo Dybala, Weston McKennie, and Arthur will be suspended by Juventus and miss the derby against Torino tomorrow. McKennie organized a private party on Wednesday night, inviting ten people, including his two teammates. It is forbidden to organize private parties in Italy under the current COVID rules. Neighbors called the Police when they noticed a party was going on inside McKennie's home. Italy has a nationwide curfew in place, from 10 pm to 5 am. The Police officers arrived at McKennie's home at around 11.30 pm.
According to the media outlets, the trio will be fined and suspended for the upcoming game against Torino. Arthur would have missed the game anyway due to an injury. However, McKennie would have replaced the former Barça man, while Dybala would have returned to the squad after an injury. Football Italia understands the suspension could be longer as Juventus will host Napoli in the rescheduled fixture from matchday 3 on Wednesday 7, but a decision about that game has yet to be taken.
Juventus (3-5-2): Szczesny; Danilo, Chiellini, De Ligt; Cuadrado, Bentancur, Ramsey, Rabiot, Chiesa; Morata, Ronaldo
Suspended: Buffon
Injured: Demiral, Bonucci, Dybala, McKennie, Arthur

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
