The relegation and Champions League battles cross paths, as both Torino and Napoli are desperate for every point they can get. Read our reasons for Torino vs Napoli prediction and betting tips.
Torino coach Davide Nicola said he ‘cannot fault the lads’ after the 1-1 draw with Bologna. ‘Everyone was committed’. The Granata sit three points above Cagliari in Serie A, as the Rossoblu beat Udinese away and Torino only managed a draw in Bologna. But Nicola was pleased with the performance at the Renato Dall’Ara and felt Torino deserved more than just one point. “We are also achieving the results, tonight we didn’t get the result we deserved in the light of the performance,” Nicola told the media. “But I can’t fault the lads. It wasn’t easy after two days to play a game like this. It means everyone is committed. The result, however, is a bit tight in my opinion.”
Torino’s fate is in their own hands and Nicola feels his players have ‘incredible energy’ and looks forward to the next game on Monday against Napoli. “It’s difficult to achieve results without having a precise identity,” he said. “The lads are putting it on the pitch. Tonight we lacked accuracy in certain moments. The lads aren’t robots but they are showing that they have incredible energy. You can do nothing but reset and prepare for Monday’s game.”
Simone Zaza and Andrea Belotti played a good game for Toro. “I think everyone is doing well. I’m sorry to not give the right continuity to [Federico] Bonazzoli, in whom we believe. After two days we decided to make some changes that wouldn’t upset the system. Whoever took over, did their part. We must continue along this path, increasing accuracy. We are undergoing avoidable restarts for the rush to win games.”

Napoli is fresh from a 5-2 demolition of Lazio and are just three points adrift of Milan in second place, yet as things stand they are out of Champions League qualification. Napoli won this head-to-head for fifth place with some spectacular goals, particularly Lorenzo Insigne and Dries Mertens, despite a Lazio fightback. The game started in chaotic scenes after just five minutes. Napoli had a corner, Lazio broke with Manuel Lazzari, who went down under pressure from Elseid Hysaj and the referee waved play on. While they were protesting, VAR pointed the referee towards an incident that occurred on the earlier corner, when Sergej Milinkovic-Savic caught Kostas Manolas in the side of the head with his boot. It seemed unintentional, but the referee awarded a penalty, which Lorenzo Insigne converted against his former teammate Pepe Reina. Napoli doubled their lead soon after. Dries Mertens controlled a long Insigne ball beautifully, spread it to the right, where Matteo Politano drilled past Reina at the near post. Joaquin Correa was unlucky not to get Lazio back into it in 19 minutes, his finish bouncing off the inside of the upright and rolling back out.
Alex Meret made his first real save of the game from point-blank range on a Milinkovic-Savic dink, but Napoli countered from that move and made it 3-0 with a trademark Insigne right-foot curler into the far top corner from the edge of the box. The fourth goal was even more spectacular, as Zielinski gathered a short throw-in, turned a defender, and whipped in a ferocious cross that Mertens redirected first time into the top corner from the D. The Belgian pointed to the sky and seemed to be in tears, dedicating it to his grandmother, who died last week. It still wasn’t over, as moments later Lazio got one back with their native Neapolitan. A corner was not cleared effectively, Andreas Pereira allowed Immobile to spring the offside trap and he curled right-footed into the far top corner. Soon after that, Milinkovic-Savic placed a marvelous free-kick over the wall and in off the underside of the bar for 4-2. However, Napoli responded to the sudden comeback with a fifth, as Lazio gave it away cheaply in midfield, Hirving Lozano rolled across for Victor Osimhen to control and blast in at the near post, surprising Reina.
Napoli (4-2-3-1): Meret; Di Lorenzo, Rrahmani, Koulibaly, Mario Rui; Fabian Ruiz, Demme; Politano, Zielinski, L Insigne; Osimhen
Suspended: Manolas
Injured: Ghoulam, Ospina

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
