Torino beat Parma and will be looking to extend their three-match unbeaten run as they host Verona on Wednesday.
Torino lifted themselves off the foot of the table with a thumping 3-0 victory away to troubled Parma. It took just eight minutes to break the deadlock, as Wilfried Singo was sent clear by an Andrea Belotti through ball and kept his cool to fire it past the on-rushing Luigi Sepe. Parma pushed to the end, but Torino doubled their lead in the final minutes on a corner with Armando Izzo’s towering header. They even added a third to seal the triumph in stoppages, as Amer Gojak made the most of a Belotti assist to sweep into the top corner.
Torino coach Marco Giampaolo insisted he’s never doubted his team qualities and revealed why he was not sacked despite sitting at the bottom of the table. “I talk to President every day. I’ve always felt trusted, I never had the feeling they didn’t have confidence in what I was doing. Maybe they noticed the players are attached to my principles, otherwise, they would have replaced me.”
Barring any late fitness issues, Giampaolo may opt against making any alterations to his Torino XI. However, Amer Gojak contributed a goal and an assist during his 20-minute outing as a substitute against Parma, putting him in contention for a recall to the team.
Torino (3-5-2): Salvatore Sirigu; Armando Izzo, Lyanco, Bremer; Wilfried Singo, Sasa Lukic, Tomas Rincon, Karol Linetty, Ricardo Rodiguez; Simone Verdi, Andrea Belotti
Verona continued to play some good football but this time they needed something more to achieve three points, a spectacular Mattia Zaccagni over-head kick that gave them the deserved victory away to Spezia, who went down to 10 men. M’Baye Nzola should’ve put Spezia in front early when pouncing on a poor Marco Davide Faraoni back-pass, but the angled drive only hit the side-netting. Verona kept the initiative and Ivan Provedel needed a fine save to stop Kalinic from finishing off the good work from Mattia Zaccagni and Antonin Barak. Kalinic had the ball in the net on 40 minutes, but it was disallowed for his offside position. Tommaso Pobega’s sudden strike from the edge of the penalty area forced Marco Silvestri into a tricky save over the bar. The game changed on 68 minutes when Julian Chabot received his second yellow card for running into the back of Faraoni, leaving 10 men. Moments later, Verona took a deserved lead with a spectacular goal from Mattia Zaccagni. Faraoni volleyed the cross from the right for his chest and acrobatic overhead kick, giving Provedel no chance.
Nikola Kalinic was a surprise starter for Verona at the weekend after injury, and it could lead to the Croatian not being risked on Wednesday. Ebrima Colley is in line to come into the attack if Juric drops his main frontman to the substitutes' bench.
Verona (3-4-2-1): Marco Silvestri; Pawel Dawidowicz, Giangiacomo Magnani, Federico Dimarco, Faraoni, Tameze, Miguel Veloso, Darko Lazovic, Antonin Barak, Mattia Zaccagni, Nikola Kalinic

This could be a tight affair but Torino will leave spaces for Verona attack and both teams to score is a good betting option.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
