TOTTENHAM VS LEEDS MATCH ANALYSIS
Jose Mourinho's side played out a 1-1 draw against Wolves to fall to 7th place in the Premier League standings with 26 points, where they remain after their match against fulham in midweek was called off because of new coronavirus cases at the west London club. Since the first week of December, the Spurs haven't tasted victory in any of their next four matches in the league (D2, L2), which could change as they welcome the newcomers Leeds. The visitors returned to winning ways with a tight home win against Burnley on Boxing Day and demolished West Brom 0-5 most recently in midweek. It was a convincing performance by Marcelo Bielsa's boys who climbed to 11th place with 23 points after their third win in five matches (L2).
Jose Mourinho has demanded more from his team after being without a win in their last four games (D2, L2) and if they want to challenge for the title, they needed to step up and deliver. He questioned the ambition of his Tottenham players after they conceded yet another late goal against Wolves to drop two points as they have now dropped a league-high nine points after conceding beyond the 80th minute this term. However, Spurs have an opportunity to end 2020 on a high as they welcome newcomers Leeds next.
In their draw at Wolves on Boxing Day, Jose Mourinho's men led for 85 minutes after Tanguy Ndombele had given the Spurs a lead after just 57 seconds. Wolves succeeded in their efforts to stop the lethal Kane and Son Heung-min duo but showed no real threat up front in Jimenez’s absence. However, they were rewarded for not giving up after Morocco defender Saiss headed home past Hugo Lloris. The draw left Jose Mourinho's side in need to rediscover the attacking aspect of their game.
As for Bielsa’s side, the Whites made it three wins from four with an emphatic 5-0 win over the Baggies on Tuesday. After failing to win their last four visits to Hawthorns (L3) and losing three of their last four away league matches, they responded in style. Opinion on Bielsa's methods appeared to be polarised in the reaction to his team's 6-2 defeat at Manchester United before Christmas, yet performances of this calibre fully justify why the Argentine will not alter his tactics - whoever the opposition.
Against West Brom, Allardyce's pragmatic approach was destroyed by Bielsa's attacking philosophy in a one-sided first half. Leeds scored four goals in a rampant first-half display at The Hawthorns but were gifted the opening goal when home midfielder Romaine Sawyers puzzlingly passed into his own net. From that point Leeds absolutely dominated. Ezgjan Alioski and Jack Harrison's strikes left Albion trailing 3-0, and Rodrigo's deflected shot put Leeds 4-0 ahead before half-time. There was no let-up for the hosts after the break as Raphinha curled beautifully into the top corner for the fifth.

The Spurs have dropped nine points in 2020/21 with goals conceded in the last 10 minutes of matches, the most of any side in the Premier League, but have also scored their 11th Premier League goal in the opening minute of a match, with only Chelsea (12) scoring more first-minute goals. They are not on a great run but it seems more like a blip rather than the start of a slide away from the top end of the table
Leeds, on the other hand, have now scored 30 goals in the Premier League this season, meaning the only newly-promoted team in the competition's history to have netted more in the same period was Newcastle in 1993-94 (31). Also, while they have conceded 30 goals courtesy of those heavy defeats, the Whites have also kept six clean sheets.
Their thumping win in midweek will also be a huge morale boost for Marcelo Bielsa's side ahead of their trip to the capital.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
