Tottenham host Wolves at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium (London) in the 36th round of the Premier League and the match kicks off at 2.05 pm (UK) on Sunday, May 16. Read our reasons for Tottenham vs Wolves prediction and betting tips.
Tottenham fell to a 3-1 loss at Leeds on Saturday, but a narrow offside call against Harry Kane when the scores were level meant the result could have been very different. Nevertheless, back on home turf, where Spurs have won back-to-back league games under Ryan Mason, they'll be looking to put another three points on the board. Meanwhile, Wolves took full advantage of their numerical advantage against Brighton on Sunday to secure a 2-1 win, but it took until the 90th-minute to bag the winner. Nuno's side have one of the worst away records in the division, however, they have beaten Spurs in both meetings since their return to the Premier League in 2018.
After beating Southampton 2-1 and Sheffield United 4-0, Spurs were denied a Premier League hat-trick when going down 3-1 at Leeds but it is fair to say they did not get the rub of the green at Elland Road. Son Heung-min cancelled out a Stuart Dallas opener but further strikes from Patrick Bamford and Rodrigo sent them home empty-handed. Distractions over who will manage the team next term and whether star names such as Kane could be sold off are evident but Spurs should be focused on the job at hand here.
Ryan Mason will have quite simply performed heroics if he leads his team into the Champions League. The sacking of Jose Mourinho was no shock, but the timing was undoubtedly surprising. However, a late push for fourth would see the decision pay off in spades, but, it does appear unlikely. The improved showings against Southampton and Sheffield Utd handed them six key points, but it may already be too little, too late after a defeat at Leeds. Nevertheless, they need to finish the season strongly and can start by seeing off Wolves in London on Sunday.
As for Wolves, they are ten points worse-off at this stage than last season and are still hunting a top-half finish. A 2-1 comeback victory against Brighton proved their hunger, as only Man Utd (54) have recovered more points from losing positions than Wolves (51) since their PL return. Slow starts have hindered Wolves away though, while only doomed Sheffield Utd have scored less PL away goals on average than Wolves’ 0.88 per road trip.
However, Wolves can’t be discounted here, as they’ve won two straight trips to Tottenham, contributing to the home side failing to win any head-to-heads in London for more than a decade. Wolves made it three wins in five outings when coming from behind to beat Brighton at Molineux but that bare stat masks a moderate run of form. Having picked up just two points from five previous games, Wanderers were only workmanlike in edging out relegated teams Fulham and Sheffield Utd.

Tottenham meet Wolves having previously lost three of their six home Premier League games against Wanderers (50%), only losing a higher percentage of home games against Nottingham Forest in the competition (60%). Wolves have won three of their last five Premier League matches (D1, L1), as many as they managed in their previous 17 such games (W3, D6, L8).
The away side has come away victorious in four of the last five league meetings between these two, but with more at stake, Spurs may break that trend and secure an important three points.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
