In the last five games, only Parma and Cagliari have picked up fewer points than Napoli and Udinese, who meet in the Serie A on Sunday.
Udinese has only one point from their last eight games against Napoli in Serie A and picked up a 1-1 draw against Carlo Ancelotti’s men in the first meeting last season. The Bianconeri are hard to predict, as their last eight goals in Serie A have come from eight different players. It was a hugely entertaining encounter at the Stadio Dall’Ara, but Udinese fought back twice to hold 10-man Bologna in stoppages.
Bologna broke the deadlock when a free-kick was whipped into the box by Riccardo Orsolini for a precise Takehiro Tomiyasu header. Udinese got back on level terms in chaotic fashion, as Angelo Da Costa only parried the Rodrigo De Paul strike and Roberto Pereyra was quickest to react on the rebound. It was a brave header, as he was accidentally kicked in the process. Rodrigo Palacio left two defenders for dead and his cross was knocked down by Musa Barrow for a Matias Svanberg volley from 10 yards. The second half didn’t start well for Bologna or their goalscorer Svanberg, who received a second yellow card for his late lunge on Ilija Nestorovski. Bologna held on very well, but was unlucky on the equalizer, as Tolgay Arslan’s attempt took a big deflection to wrong-foot Da Costa at the near post.
Udinese (3-5-2): Musso; Becao, Bonifazo, Samir; Stryger Larsen, De Paul, Mandragora, Pereyra, Zeegelaar; Lasagna, Nestorovski
Suspended: none
Injured: Forestieri, Jajalo, Okaka, Nuytinck, Pussetto
The pressure is mounting on Napoli coach Gennaro Gattuso, but the Partenopei haven’t lost in four away games against Udinese. After the Azzurri suffered a 2-1 home defeat at hands of Spezia Gattuso said Napoli ‘throw too many points away’ and not only because of bad luck. “We create a lot, but we lose our confidence after just one wrong pass, we’ve been working on it for quite a long time now. We don’t accept we can concede a goal and end up ruining the game. Scoring goals is a major problem, we create so many goal scoring chances. We need to be ruthless in front of the goal. Maybe I am the one doing mistakes as I am not able to make them understand they need to be ruthless.’’
Napoli is trying to be active in the transfer window but for now, they have only reached a principle of an agreement to sign Hellas Verona’s Mattia Zaccagni with the player who would move to the Stadio Maradona at the end of the season. The 25-year-old has four goals and five assists in 17 appearances in all competitions so far this season and several Serie A clubs have been linked with securing his services. The Partenopei will pay €13m and the player will remain out on loan at the Stadio Bentegodi in the next five months.
Napoli (4-3-3): Meret; Di Lorenzo, Manolas, Rrahmani, Hysaj; Fabian Ruiz, Bakayoko, Lozano; Zielinski, Insigne, Petagna
Suspended: none
Injured: Osimhen, Mertens, Koulibaly, Malcuit, Demme

Both sides are desperate for points and Napoli needs to bounce back from a defeat to Spezia last time. Both teams to score is the most reasonable bet.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
