Udinese host Parma at the Dacia Arena in a game between two of the most struggling teams so far.
The Parma have won one of their first three Serie A games while Udinese lost all of them, including a 2-0 home defeat against newly-promoted side Spezia. New signings Ignacio Pussetto and Gerard Deulofeu are ready to make their debut with the Friulani this season but they are likely to start from the bench.
Before the game vs Roma, Udinese didn’t have a single point or goal scored from two rounds, losing at home to 10-man Spezia, so coach Luca Gotti made changes with new signing Roberto Pereyra thrown straight into the XI. It was a surprisingly open encounter with chances for both sides, Antonio Mirante’s great save on Kevin Lasagna after a corner showed that Udinese is near that first goal of the season. The biggest double opportunity was just before half-time, as De Paul sent Lasagna clear on goal, he allowed Mirante to block, the ball fell to Pereyra, whose lob was cleared off the line by Gianluca Mancini.
Udinese was punished by a moment of magic from Pedro, his first Serie A goal. Udinese gave it away cheaply, and he hit a rocket from outside the box that passed around Juan Musso to bounce in off the inside of the near post. Until the end, Udinese had several more chances. Mirante spectacularly double saved on Lasagna and the Fernando Forestieri follow-up, then Okaka missed a goal from 10 yards. Mirante came to Roma’s rescue again, Nahuel Molina volley was heading in the near top corner, and in the end, Spinazzola made a crucial interception to stop the Ouwejan cross from meeting Forestieri’s head in the six-yard box.
The hosts have a long list of injuries with the likes of Walace, Rolando Mandragora, Mato Jajalo, Jens Stryger Larsen, Juan Musso who are going to miss the game.
Udinese (3-5-2): Nicolas; Becao, De Maio, Samir; Ter Avest, De Paul, Arslan, Pereyra, Ouwejan; Lasagna, Okaka.
Suspended: None
Injured: Jajalo, Mandragora, Walace, Musso, Stryger Larsen.
Parma has registered four Covid-19 cases this week but failed to reveal the identity of the footballers. Mattia Sprocati, Maxime Busi, Andreas Cornelius, Valentin Mihalia are injured. Wylan Cyprien is ready to make his first appearance for Parma in the middle of the park while Hans Nicolussi Caviglia, who arrived on loan from Juventus, should start from the bench.
Parma should look at the past to find some spark, they have won their last three games against Udinese. Neither clubs have ever won four games in a row against the other in Serie A.
Parma picked up their first points of the season thanks to a Jasmin Kurtic goal in the opening minute and some poor Hellas Verona finishing. New coach Fabio Liverani was struggling to get his ideas across and a team was in constant stress due to the transfer market. It took barely 30 seconds to break the deadlock, and that helped, as Yann Karamoh sprinted away from Davide Faraoni down the right, his cross was missed entirely by defenders and Jasmin Kurtic was free to tap in at the far post. Verona recovered from that early shock and had several chances to score but they didn’t punish at times shaky Parma defense.
Parma (4-3-1-2):Sepe; Laurini, Iacoponi, Bruno Alves, Gagliolo; Hernani, Cyprien, Kurtic; Kucka; Gervinho, Karamoh.
Suspended: None
Injured: Sprocati, Busi, Cornelius, Mihalia.

It is not an ideal time for both teams but they must show what they’ve been doing during the international break. Udinese is close to scoring and Parma has great counterattacking potential. Both teams to score is our preferable bet.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
