Ukraine meet England at the Stadio Olimpico (Rome) in the EURO 2020 Quarter-final clash and the match kicks off at 8 pm (UK) on Saturday, July 3. Read our reason for Ukraine vs England prediction and betting tips.
UKRAINE VS ENGLAND, CAN THE THREE LIONS MOVE PAST THE UKRAINIAN HURDLE?
Ukraine lock horns with England at the Stadio Olimpico in the last quarter final match of the Euro 2020. Both teams are looking to make history here, England a second time to the semifinal for European competitions and Ukraine hoping for their first ever appearance in the last four of a major tournament. England beat Germany 2-0 on Tuesday night to reach the quarter-finals, while Ukraine required extra-time to eliminate Sweden. This is England's first game of Euro 2020 away from Wembley and it will be interesting how they deal will travelling for the first time againsgt Ukraine who are the underdogs heading into Saturday's game and those extra minutes played against Sweden would have done them no favours.
UKRAINE TO FINALLY BREAK UNTESTED ENGLISH DEFENSE?
Ukraine didn’t have it the easy way, they were huge underdogs against Sweden, yet combination of luck and hard work prevailed to clinch a winner at the end of 120 minutes of football. Marcus Danielson’s red card in the extra time was the turning point in the match which gave Ukraine some confidence to go forward and snatch the eventual winner. Oleksandr Zinchenko, the man of the match, scored his team’s first goal before setting up Artem Dovbyk for the winner deep in the the extra time.
This is Ukraine’s first ever appearance at the last eight of a tournament and they have a chance to make history with their opponent being England. This is the first meeting between the two sides since 2013 when both played out a 0-0 draw, meaning the last four encounters have all seen under 2.5 goals. All things considered, Ukraine will need to step up their game if they aspire to move to the semi-finals past England.
TIP #1: Everything points to this contest being a fairly cagy contest and no goals before half-time stands out from the Ukraine vs England odds.
THREE LIONS TO REIGN SUPREME IN ROME
England’s performance in Wembley against a dismal German side has taken them a step closer to the coveted silverware. While some criticize Gareth Southgate’s approach to team set-up, it seems to be working so far. The Germans never really tested England. A five-man defensive line with the addition of two extra defensive midfielders locked England’s goal from any German threat that loomed. They will be keen on coming up with another solid performance against Ukraine, a match they will be expected to win.
At this point, England remain as the only team to concede a goal, though Italy and Belgium conceded just 1 in the competition. However, Gareth Southgate tops any team in the lowest number of chances conceded. On the other side of the pitch, Raheem Sterling took his tally to 3 goals from 4 games, while Harry Kane finally got his first goal in the tournament. Having witnessed some incredible underdog wins so far, England will not take this fixture lightly and will have to be on their toes against Ukraine.
TIP #2: Kane and Sterling will dominate the goalscorer markets but we’re going to take a punt on Harry Maguire to net at any time. The Man United defender put in a towering performance versus Germany and this is the kind of match where he may enjoy success at set-pieces.

As much we love to see another underdog story, the game is likely to end as expected. Southgate’s pragmatic approach should put England through to the semi-finals. Andriy Shevchenko’s side have plenty of spirit and energy but lack the quality of their opponents in practically every department. The Three Lions have gone six games without conceding and England to win to nil is BettingKick’s final Ukraine vs England prediction.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
