After the worst defeat in Ukraine's history, they host Germany in a coronavirus crisis with several players doubtful for Saturday match in Kyiv.
Just before the two matches in the League of Nations, with Germany and Spain, the blue and yellows played a friendly match with the current world champions. Due to injuries and positive tests for coronavirus, the national team of Ukraine found itself in an emergency - more than half of the main team was out of the game, and the team's coach Oleksandr Shovkovsky was declared the reserve goalkeeper. In the starting lineup of Andriy Shevchenko's team, there were four absolute debutants - Bushchan, Konoplya, Zabarny, and Zubkov, and the most experienced among the players - Andriy Yarmolenko - took the position of forward. Despite the 4-0 score after 45 minutes, but not everything was so bad for the visitors. Ukraine managed several very good attacks, Malinowski had three real chances, one great when 1 on 1 with the goalkeeper, and after that Mandanda managed to hold his shots on two other occasions.
The final 7-1 defeat was cruel for the Ukrainian side that played some good football but was unable to keep the score close. They had a lot of problematic positions now, it is unclear who we will be able to call up for the next matches. Currently, the situation is very difficult, Shakhtar players, who missed the France game, will be tested the day before the match with Germany, and it is currently impossible to predict how Ukraine will play against one of the elite national teams at this moment. They determined the lineup against France from the fact that they have two most important and official matches ahead, so it is reasonable to believe that we will see a much better Ukraine team in the next game.
Ukraine (4-3-3): Heorhiy Bushchan, Yukhym Konplya, Ihor Plastun, Vitaliy Mykolenko, Eduard Sobol, Serhiy Sydorchuk, Mykola Shaparenko, Roman Bezus, Ruslan Malinovskyi, Andriy Yarmolenko, Oleksandr Zubkov
A young German national team narrowly missed their first success in 2020 in the 3-3 draw against Turkey. Once again, the German national team failed to give itself a boost in motivation before the tasks in the Nations League. After the coronavirus break, the DFB team drew twice against Spain and Switzerland in the Nations League in September. In the RheinEnergieStadion, Julian Draxler, the newcomer Neuhaus, and Luca Waldschmidt each scored for Germany but Ozan Tufan, Efecan Karaca, and Kenan Karaman equalized for Turkey.
National coach Löw demanded more consistency from his team in and complained to the media after a conceded goal in the dying moments of the match: ''The goal must not happen in this phase. We will work it up when all the players are there. We have to talk. These are problems that have been with us for a long time."
Low put on a young team in the 3-4-3 system from the start. Emre Can, Robin Koch, and Antonio Rüdiger defended in front of goalkeeper Bernd Leno. Benjamin Henrichs, Neuhaus, Julian Brandt, and Nico Schulz played in midfield behind the three-man attack, Draxler, Waldschmidt, and Kai Havertz.
So, it is difficult to blame the team that has never played together like this before. They had problems when they under pressure and provided and sparked opposition hopes. Florian Neuhaus made a good debut not just with the scored goal, but how he adapted to the team play in his first senior match with the national team. Low with his coaching staff doesn't have much time to prepare for the match against Ukraine but it is sure that he will play with his best players that had a rest vs Turkey.
Germany (3-4-3): Manuel Neuer, Emre Can, Niklas Sule, Antonio Rudiger, Joshua Kimmich, Toni Kroos, Leon Goretzka, Robin Gosens, Serge Gnabry, Timo Werner, Kai Havertz

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
