Will Loris Karius keep his place in goal after two clean sheets when Union Berlin welcomes Andrej Kramaric and Hoffenheim to the capital on Sunday? Read our reasons for Union Berlin vs Hoffenheim prediction and betting tips.
Liverpool-owned Karius is yet to concede in the 180 minutes of Bundesliga football he has played for Union since regular No.1 Andreas Luthe was given leave for compassionate reasons. Luthe is available once again this weekend, but following a goalless draw with Schalke and 1-0 victory at hitherto high-flying Freiburg, Urs Fischer may be tempted to keep things as they are at the back. Union comes into the weekend in seventh, four places and seven points above their visitors and just three points off Borussia Dortmund in the final European place.
They have been further boosted by the return to training of Max Kruse six-goal top scorer, although he may not be fit enough to start, with Joel Pohjanpalo likely to be given the nod upfront. Niko Gießelmann is out for the time being with a shoulder injury, so the Eintracht Frankfurt-bound Christopher Lenz should have an uninterrupted run on Die Eisernen's left flank.
Union: Karius - Friedrich, Knoche, Schlotterbeck - Trimmel (c), Prömel, Andrich, Lenz - Ingvartsen - Pohjanpalo, Teuchert
Out: Awoniyi (thigh), Gießelmann (shoulder), Ujah (knee)
Doubtful: Becker (ankle)
Coach: Urs Fischer
Hoffenheim has stuttered in recent weeks, knocked out from the UEFA Europa League after a 1-0 home loss against Molde and without a three-points since beating Koln 3-0 on Matchday 18 at the end of January. Sebastian Hoeneß's side roared back to winning ways last Sunday, though, beating Werder Bremen 4-0 with four goalscorers not called Kramaric on the scoresheet. That has been a rarity this season; the 13-goal Croatian top scorer a leading light for a side who have often struggled without him.
Florian Grillitsch filled in for the suspended Kevin Vogt in the middle of Hoffenheim's back three last weekend. Both could start this time around, with Chris Richards looking safe as the third cog in that defensive machine since his loan signing from Bayern Munich. Ryan Sessegnon is back in full training and could replace Marco John on the left flank, but Hoeneß is unlikely to change much.
Hoffenheim: Baumann (c) - Adams, Vogt, Richards - Kaderabek, Rudy, Samassekou, Sessegnon - Baumgartner - Bebou, Kramaric
Out: Akpoguma (hamstring), Bicakcic (knee), Geiger (hamstring), Hübner (ankle), Nordtveit (foot), Posch (not included), Stafylidis (shoulder)
Doubtful: Belfodil (groin), Gacinovic (ankle), Skov (knee)
Coach: Sebastian Hoeneß

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
