Valencia kicked off the new La Liga campaign with a 4-2 win over their local rivals Levante, but they failed to impress in a 2-1 loss at Celta Vigo.
Los Che continues with their habit of producing much better displays at home than on the travels, but seeing that several first-team regulars left the club in the summer, home win should not be considered. Los Che twice fell behind at the Mestalla but Maxi Gomez levelled the scores in the 39th minute before Manu Vallejo came off the bench to net a brace in the final 15 minutes.
After back-to-back fourth-place finishes, Valencia ended last season in ninth, and it would be fair to say that it has been a busy transfer window for the club in terms of outgoings, with Rodrigo Moreno, Ferran Torres, Francis Coquelin and Dani Parejo amongst those to move on. The former Spanish champions could lose more key players before the transfer window closes, but Gracia still has a very talented squad to work with, and he will be eyeing another three points this weekend.
Huesca, on the other hand, did well to hold Villarreal to a 1-1 draw at Estadio de las Ceramicas in the season opener, with the team suffering a 2-0 loss to Cadiz in their first home game of the season. The newcomers are desperate to record their first win of the season, but seeing that Valencia are tough to beat at home, share of spoils is on the cards. Japan international Shinji Okazaki is widely expected to lead the line for the visitors, but Mir Vicente is likely to pose a big threat for the opposition defenders as well. Huesca earned promotion back to La Liga for the 2020-21 campaign courtesy of winning last season's Segunda Division, finishing one point clear of second-place Cadiz at the summit. The fact that Huesca lost 14 of their 42 league matches and still won the division is a surprise, but they do have previous in Spain's top flight, competing at this level in 2018-19, ultimately finishing 19th. It could be another difficult campaign for the club, but Michel's side picked up an impressive result on the opening weekend of the season, drawing 1-1 with Villarreal.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
