Serie A week four ends on Monday night with Verona vs Genoa on Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi.
Verona started the season with a goalless draw with Roma. Due to administrative error from the visitors, Verona got a 3-0 victory that gave them a confidence boost for the second round. They played another game with great defensive intensity against Udinese and made another win thanks to Favilli's goal in the second half. Verona got their points but it was obvious they have trouble creating and scoring. That was more visible in the last round when they were defeated against Parma. Hosts managed to score in the first minute, Verona had several chances to equalize but they missed from good positions and returned home unrewarded for their decent performance.
During the break, they had some personnel problems, Koray Gunter and Antonin Barak are out of action because they’ve tested positive for Covid-19 but Miguel Veloso returns to action after a calf injury that forced him out of action in the opening three Serie A games of the season. Nikola Kalinic is ready to make his debut for Verona but the former Atletico Madrid man may start from the bench. He has the class and skills to be the number one striker, but he will need some time to fit into the team.
Verona (3-4-2-1): Silvestri; Lovato, Empereur, Ceccherini; Faraoni, Tameze, Ilic, Lazovic; Zaccagni, Salcedo; Di Carmine
Suspended: None
Injured: Danzi, Barak, Cetin, Benassi, Dawidowicz, Gunter
The likes of Mattia Perin, Miha Zajc, Ivan Radovanovic, Marco Pjaca, Luca Pellegrini, Davide Biraschi, Filippo Melegoni, Valon Behrami, Lasse Schone, and Federico Marchetti have recovered and tested negative for Covid, and the first two of them are expected to start at the Stadio Bentegodi. This will be the first game for Genoa since the Coronavirus outbreak that hit the team three weeks ago and after the match with Napoli, they lost 6-0. The last round match against Torino was postponed because of many players and staff infected but that was resolved during the international break.
In the first match of the season, Genoa played some good football and easily won against Crotone. They were inspired by great individual roles from Goran Pandev and Milan Badelj, great goals were scored by newcomers Zappacosta and Pjaca who got his minutes in the second half. Genoa could play some nice, free-flowing football if healthy and fit but it will be interesting to see how this coronavirus situation influenced them in the past few weeks.
Genoa (3-5-2): Perin, Goldaniga, Zapata, Masiello; Ghiglione, Zajc, Badelj, Rovella, Czyborra; Shomurodov, Pandev
Suspended: None
Injured: Destro, Lerager, Zappacosta, Marles, Criscito, Cassata

It should be a close match with two teams that know each other very well because Verona coach Jurić was several times in charge of Genoa. Under 2,5 goals looks like a reasonable bet, because Verona has problems with finishing chances and Genoa must be more cautious after the 6-0 defeat against Napoli.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
