Seven points separate Napoli from ninth-placed Verona ahead of their clash at the Bentegodi on Sunday.
Verona has picked up seven points from their last seven games and will hope to bounce back from a 1-0 defeat to Bologna last time. Verona coach Ivan Juric admitted Bologna ‘deserved to win and did better’ than his team, but was furious over the move that led to the penalty. A Riccardo Orsolini spot-kick proved the difference, earned when Marco Silvestri parried the initial Orsolini effort and then brought down Roberto Soriano on the rebound. “We can’t concede a goal like that. It was a bad enough situation with the through ball, as we worked on those all week, then they were quicker on the rebound,” Juric told media.
Nikola Kalinic had a big chance to draw Verona level but seemed sluggish and off the pace. “I maintain if he trains with the group for 10 days, that’ll make the difference. I know everyone wants everything straight away, but Kalinic has been playing on and off for three years, we need some patience. We had some good spells today, but I believe Bologna deserved the win.” This was only Bologna’s third clean sheet in the last 18 Serie A games, while it was also the fourth time this season that Verona failed to find the net.
Verona (3-4-2-1): Silvestri; Dawidowicz, Gunter, Magnani, Faraoni; Tameze, Ilic, Dimarco; Barak, Zaccagni; Kalinic

Napoli was convincing in a 6-0 win over Fiorentina in their last Serie A game but suffered a setback in the Supercoppa Italiana against Juventus during the week. Gennaro Gattuso told Lorenzo Insigne not to think Napoli lost the Supercoppa because of the penalty miss. ‘Juventus had more chances in the Coppa Italia Final.’ It was a heart-breaking evening at the Mapei Stadium in Reggio Emilia, as Lorenzo Insigne had the opportunity to equalize after Cristiano Ronaldo’s goal, but the captain fired a penalty wide of the target. Insigne was in floods of tears after missing the spot-kick that would’ve been his 100th Napoli goal. Wojciech Szczesny also made sensational saves, including one in stoppages, allowing Alvaro Morata to go on the counter for 2-0 with the last kick of the game. Napoli had drawn 0-0 with Juventus in the Coppa Italia Final back in June, winning on penalties.
The Partenopei are third in Serie A with 34 points from 17 games so far and their inconsistency in the League in recent weeks has seen them fall nine points behind League leaders Milan. Gennaro Gattuso seems set to be without Dries Mertens and Fabian Ruiz this weekend but received good news as Victor Osimhen has recovered from COVID-19 and a shoulder injury and should be back in training this weekend.
Napoli (4-2-3-1): Meret; Di Lorenzo, Rrahmani, Koulibaly, Hysaj; Demme, Bakayoko; Lozano, Elmas, Insigne; Petagna
Suspended: none
Injured: Malcuit, Fabian Ruiz

Napoli has their problems but their individual quality could be the key for another away win. Verona plays good football but they suffer against teams that have players able to create chances from 1 on 1 situation. Away win is our preferable betting option.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
