Sassuolo trail League leaders Milan by two points ahead of their trip to Hellas Verona at Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi
When Verona was last time on the pitch, they stopped Milan. It was a dramatic and hugely entertaining match with a comeback from 2-0 down, a missed penalty, woodwork rattled, heroic saves, disallowed goals, and a stoppage-time equalizer. Milan had not been in a trailing situation at all in Serie A this season, but found themselves 2-0 down within 19 minutes, as Antonin Barak bundled over the line after Federico Ceccherini’s header hit the bar, then Mattia Zaccagni’s effort was deflected in off Davide Calabria. Franck Kessie’s goal also took a decisive deflection off Giangiacomo Magnani, then Ibrahimovic took center stage with a missed penalty, a header off the bar, and forcing several remarkable saves from Marco Silvestri. Calabria thought he’d equalized, but it was disallowed using VAR for Ibra’s handball, so the 39-year-old made up for it by nodding in the 93rd-minute goal.
Ivan Juric has eight players out of action, including Darko Lazovic who has tested positive for Covid. Matteo Lovato and Andrea Favilli are going to miss the game with muscular problems while Mattia Zaccagni could recover from the injury he sustained on international duty.
Verona (3-4-2-1): Silvestri; Dawidowicz, Ceccherini, Magnani; Cetin, Ilic, Tameze, Dimarco; Barak, Zaccagni; Kalinic
Suspended: none
Injured: Lovato, Faraoni, Gunter, Benassi, Vieira, Ruegg, Lazovic, Favilli
Despite having Domenico Berardi and Francesco Caputo back from injury, Sassuolo was not as effective just days after their 2-0 win away to Napoli. Neither Andrea Consigli nor Juan Musso was tested as Sassuolo-Udinese ended in a goalless stalemate at the Mapei Stadium. The Friuli showed no respect in the first half and pressed high up the pitch, only for Sassuolo to pass the ball around in their half, limiting the visitors' time on the ball. The Bianconeri called for a handball in the area during stoppages, but the goalkeepers left the pitch without breaking a sweat. Sassuolo wasted the opportunity to go top with a lackluster performance against an organized Bianconeri.
Roberto De Zerbi has only four players unavailable but one of them is Ciccio Caputo who also got injured with the Azzurri last week. Gregoire Defrel will try to recover while Vlad Chiriches and Filippo Romagna are not available. The former Cagliari man will return in December after a knee injury.
Sassuolo has won their last three games at the Bentegodi (against Chievo and Hellas) without conceding a goal. It's the stadium where the Neroverdi has kept the cleanest sheets in away games, five.
Sassuolo (4-2-3-1): Consigli; Muldur, Ayhan, Ferrari, Rogerio; Locatelli, Lopez; Berardi, Djuricic, Boga; Raspadori
Suspended: none
Injured: Caputo, Romagna, Chiriches, Defrel

Verona is a good, hard-working side and a very tough opponent for any team in Seria. They battled through all their problems with coronavirus and injuries and they deserve respect. Sassuolo is a classy team that is having problems with defensively organized sides and this could be under 2,5 goals match.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
