In the duel of the teams with similar playing styles, Viking will host Aberdeen in a fight for meeting with the Sportling Lisbon in the next qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League
The Norwegian team is in great shape and form, they are scoring goals with ease in the Eliteserien and they will not switch from their attacking style of play just because of the next game that has big value for the club. It's been a while since the last time European football was played at the Viking Stadium. Not since Finnish Honka visited in 2008 they have measured forces with international rivals. Viking was fifth in last year’s Eliteserien and won the Norwegian Cup, but they started badly 2020 campaign, having only managed five wins in their first 16 fixtures. After that Viking showed their quality, especially in the attack. They are without defeat in the last 5 games, won the last three, and scored 13 goals in those matches. They are currently eighth in the league with 13 rounds to go and if they continue to play on this level they might move several places up in the standings. They are currently bossed by Bjarne Berntsen, a former defender at the club and Norwegian international, who is in charge for a third spell. Kosovo internationals Zymer Bytyqi and Ylldren Ibrahimaj, as well as New Zealand cap Joe Bell and Iceland defender Axel Andrésson, winger Yann-Erik de Lanlay and forward Veton Berisha, who both played for the Norwegian national team, are key players with good experience on the international level. In the last game for the weekend, they beat Kristiansund in Eliteserien away 5-3. Veton Berisha and Zymer Bytyqi scored a brace and Ylldren Ibrahimaj got the final goal of the match. They play on the artificial ground and that might be their advantage in any other tie but Aberdeen also trains on a similar ground so that should make no difference. Iven Austbo and Sondre Bjorshol are likely to miss the game with injury for the hosts.
Aberdeen, on the other hand, kicked off their Europa League qualifying campaign with a thrilling 6-0 win over NSI Runavik. The Dons have been in a fine form in the Premiership of late as well, and they are surely capable of making life difficult for Viking in Stavanger. Aberdeen extended their winning streak to five games with a 1-0 defeat of Kilmarnock, recent signing Ross McCrorie’s superb first-half goal secured the three points and continued the winning momentum. Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes went with the same starting XI that defeated Hibs 1-0 at Easter Road before the recent international break. The Reds were causing major problems with their passing, movement, and pace and an inevitable opener came in the 13th minute when Marley Watkins picked out Scott Wright who then crossed in from the right to find Scotland U21 international McCrorie who fired in a superb volley from 15 yards out for his first goal for the club. Their coach McInnes said with full confidence: “The exciting part for me is the fact I know there is better in us. That is five wins in a row and I know there is more to come. I was pleased with a lot of the attacking play and the speed. The confidence in the team is good but I am also looking for more.'' McCrorie suffered a knock in the first half but McInnes is confident he will be fit for the next match. Aberdeen plays in a 3-4-3 attacking formation with a lot of speed down the wings. The prospect of playing Sporting Lisbon in the next round is a mouthwatering and a huge motivator. Derek McInnes can enlist the help of Ronald Hernandez, who moved to Pittodrie from Stabaek, for the lowdown on their rivals. Best betting sites

Both teams to score seems like a reasonable bet here. Viking and Aberdeen are in a good form and love to put pressure on rivals so over 2,5 goals are also a good option.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
