Wales only needs a point to claim promotion from Nations League Group B and could earn a top spot with a draw in the match with second-placed Finland at Cardiff.
The Dragons did well to beat Ireland 1-0 in their last group game, with the team retaining top position in the standings, and, as a result, they are one point away from securing promotion to League A. Wales’ incredible defensive record continued at the weekend, that was their eighth clean sheet in their last nine international fixtures and sees them head into this home tie with Finland knowing that another shutout will see them promoted to the elite rank of the UNL. All four of Wales's Nations League victories have come by the same 1-0 score-line, although they are usually made to wait until later than the 66th minute to find the breakthrough. The win over the Republic of Ireland makes it one defeat in 13 matches for Wales - a 3-0 friendly loss to England last month - in a run stretching back to June 2019.
Wales went with a back five last time out, with Rhys Norrington-Davies and Neco Williams in the wing-back positions, but they may revert to a back four in midweek. Matthew Smith is pushing for a recall in holding midfield, likely in place of Joe Morrell, while Kieffer Moore seems likely to get the nod up top.
Wales will have to do without Juventus midfielder Aaron Ramsey against Finland this week. Adam Davies and first-choice goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey are also injured and will not be able to feature in this game. Ben Davies picked up his second yellow card of the competition against the Irish and is suspended for this fixture.
Wales (4-3-3): Danny Ward; Connor Roberts, Chris Mepham, Joe Rodon, Neco Williams; Ethan Ampadu, Joe Morrell, David Brooks; Gareth Bale, Kieffer Moore, Daniel James
Finland did well to beat Bulgaria 2-1 in the Nations League at the weekend. They are eager to overtake Wales in top position in the standings, but beating the Dragons on the road is the only way for them to claim first place in the group. Finland has had a near-perfect campaign of their own, with only a late 1-0 loss to Wales when the sides met in Helsinki on September 3, at the start of the competition. They won all four Nations League games since then - conceding just once and they also beat France 2-0 last week in a friendly game. Markku Kanerva's men are full of confidence so it should be very interesting to see how they will try to achieve must-needed victory.
They lost Union Berlin's Joel Pohjanpalo, a very valuable member of the team, to an injury in the first half of their victory over Bulgaria in Sofia, with Marcus Forss brought on in his place. That could be a big blow for the visitors, especially with Teemu Pukki scoring only once in five Nations League outings to date. Ilmari Niskanen and Rasmus Schuller are also contenders to start after being brought off the bench against Bulgaria at the weekend.
Finland (4-4-2): Lucas Hradecky; Jere Uronen, Paulus Arajuuri, Joona Toivio, Nikolai Alho; Robert Taylor, Tim Sparv, Glen Kamara, Robin Lod; Marcus Forss, Teemu Pukki

Both teams conceded just two goals in the UNL, Wales held all clean sheets in their matches, so it is very reasonable to believe that this match will end with under 2,5 goals as the most probable outcome.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
