WALES VS USA MATCH ANALYSIS
Wales head to this friendly and final rounds of the Nations League in good mood after picking up 10 points from wins over Finland, a double over Bulgaria and a draw against Wales. That was enough to take them to the top of their Nations League B Group 4 as the Dragons extended their unbeaten run to 10 games. As for their American counterparts, they are eyeing their fourth consecutive win in all competitions, but it has to be noted that they have not been in action since February 2020.The game was originally scheduled to be played in March but was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
This will only be the second meeting between the two sides and the first on Welsh soil. The previous encounter took place in 2003 at Spartan Stadium in San Jose, where a Wales side managed by Mark Hughes lost 2-0. As for the Dragons’ most recent match, substitute Jonny Williams grabbed a late victory for a depleted Wales side in Bulgaria which kept them top of their Nations League group. With leading players such as Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey missing through injury, their younger understudies showed signs of promise but lacked a cutting edge for much of the game.
However, Neco Williams came to the rescue on 85 minutes with a fine first-time finish to score his first goal for his country. Ryan Giggs' side host the Republic of Ireland on Sunday, 15 November and Finland the following Wednesday, with both games at Cardiff City Stadium. The friendly against USA will be a good preparation as Wales are aiming to win their group and earn promotion to the top tier of the Nations League.
Americans, on the other hand, began their 2020 campaign with 1-0 friendly win against their CONCACAF rival Costa Rica. As it turned out, it was the last game they will have played for a while, because of the coronavirus pandemic. They qualified for the final tournament CONCACAF Gold Cup 2020 which was originally scheduled to be played in June 2020, but was ultimately rescheduled for June 2021.The Yankees are in terrific form as they only lost to Mexico after they had won 5 competitive matches in a row.
In their most recent match they beat Costa Ricans in a spirited match at Dignity Health Sports Park thanks to a second half penalty-kick conversion by Los Angeles native Ulysses Llanez. As for Thursday’s friendly, Gregg Berhalter will have the opportunity to call in players based domestically and abroad. But first and foremost, they will be looking forward to getting the squad together after such a long break from international football.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
