WATFORD VS BRENTFORD MATCH ANALYSIS
The Hornets ended their six-game unbeaten run (W3-D3) with the first home defeat of the campaign to Cardiff (0-1) on December 5, and their third defeat in total, but have recovered with back-to-back wins against Rotherham (2-0) and Birmingham (0-1 )which puts them in the 4th place with 33 points ahead of this match. As for Brentford, the Bees are now eleven games unbeaten (W5-D6) and look to have finally turned a corner from their early-season lull. After three consecutive draws, they have won three games on the trot, but the see-saw results continued as they registered another back-to-back draw at home against Blackburn (2-2) and Derby (0-0), before winning at Nottingham (1-3) on Saturday. With that win they remain in 6th position with 31 points.
Watford are definitely looking to get back immediately to the top flight and hope that a new manager Vladimir Ivic can set the foundations for their quick return to Premier League. Even with the likes of Dele-Bashiru, Masina, Gray, and Success still sidelined, the Hornets are doing alright, which is a huge sign of the quality of their set-up. Having lost ground on the title-chasers following a relatively poor run of form, they got back in the mix after two consecutive home wins, where they have kept the clean sheets, too.
As for their latest match, a late Troy Deeney penalty was enough for Watford to win a game of few chances at Birmingham. Birmingham-born Deeney converted after Stipe Perica was brought down by Pedersen, who was also sent off for a second yellow card. Before the late drama, the match had failed to produce much in terms of goalmouth action, with Watford taking more than an hour to register the first effort on target. With this win, the Hornets secured a first away win in six matches to maintain pressure on the Championship's top two.
Brentford, on the other side, could be forgiven for suffering a bit of a hangover after losing the play-off final last season. They showed they knew how to control games and were brilliant when it came to creating chances and being in control, but they need a few good results on the trot in the league to get this campaign really going. They lost key players in the summer, but they have replaced them well and as a matter of fact, are better off with points at this stage than they were last term.
Against Notts Forest at the weekend, Ivan Toney scored his 15th goal of the season as the Bees moved up to sixth with a clinical victory over a poor Forest side who have picked up just one point from a seven-match winless run. After testing the Bees on a couple of occasions in the first half, the visitors, who are now unbeaten in 11 games, survived the pressure and a late double ensured an emphatic scoreline.

These two sides have only shared a league once, in season 2014/15, when the Hornets won the double over the Bees with two 2-1 wins in the Championship.
Watford, under Championship manager of the month for November Vladimir Ivic, have now lost just once in their past nine matches and stay fourth, four points behind leaders Norwich, while Brentford are 11 matches unbeaten, but do not want to rest on their laurels. They will aim to continue to climb up the standings and be ready for Tuesday against Watford.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
