Watford host Bristol at the Vicarage Road (Watford) in the 29th round of the Championship and the match kicks off at 3 pm (UK) on Saturday, February 13. Read our reasons for Watford vs Bristol prediction and betting tips.
Watford quickly forgot about the introductory two defeats in 2021 and were on a four-game unbeaten run (W3, D1), prior to their surprising 2-1 loss to QPR at home in midweek. Their next game finished goalless at Coventry and as a result, the Hornets find themselves in 4th in the table, but further from automatic promotion ahead of the weekend. As for Bristol, Dean Holden’s side are currently on a poor run of three successive league defeats and have expectedly bowed out of the FA Cup Round 5 after a 1-0 defeat at Sheffield Utd in midweek. The Robins have won just one of their last 16 FA Cup games against Premier League sides (D4, L11) and are left to focus on the play-off hunt.
Watford are definitely looking to get back to top-flight immediately and are hoping that a change of managers will galvanise the squad as Vladimir Ivic was sacked after his side’s 2-0 defeat at mid-table Huddersfield in December, just four months into his reign. Since Valérien Ismaël took charge, their record across all competitions is ‘W4, D2, L3’ under the Frenchman. Having drawn just twice since then, it has been all or nothing for the Yorkshire side.
Watford have drawn five away league matches goalless this season, and equaled their record for most in a season since 1996/97 in the third tier when they last drew five away games 0-0. Without a win in three league games, the Hornets saw their march towards the top halted briefly. Goalless draws at Millwall and Coventry on either side of a home loss to QPR saw them drop down to fourth in the standings. Now, the hosts will look to return to form by capitalizing on Bristol’s own wretched run of late.
As for Bristol, the Robins’ 'streaky' trait has been their theme again this season as they have been switching between winning and losing in their last 11 games in all competitions (W5, L6). Interestingly they haven’t recorded a single draw in 16 matches, sharing the points in the second-tier last on November 25. The see-saw results have seen them slip down to 10th in the league, but with six points less than sixth-placed Bournemouth, they are still in the play-off mix.
The Robins come into this game on the back of four straight losses. The most recent one was a 1-0 loss to Sheffield Utd in the FA Cup on Wednesday night, meaning Bristol have suffered seven defeats on their last eight travels. They have a solitary clean sheet in their last six games and have lost 10 times in their last 15 league games. That run has seen the Robins drop from fifth in the standings to 10th. Dean Holden has somehow managed to stay in the job despite the poor series of results but may not have much time left to revive his team's fortunes.

Watford meet Bristol having recorded 7 wins to visitors’ 5 from their last 20 meetings overall. They last shared the league in season 2017/18 and whoever wins this will have an upper hand this season as the reverse fixture at Bristol finished goalless as has too often been the case this season with Watford away.
Bristol will once again look to Famara Diedhiou for goals on Saturday. However, Watford have been a cohesive unit at home – they boast of the league’s best home form (W10, D2, L2) - and should claim all three points in this encounter.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
