Borussia Dortmund will travel to Bremen in their first game since the dismissal of head coach Lucien Favre.
After going eight matches unbeaten, Werder has suffered three straight defeats to Wolfsburg, VfB Stuttgart, and RB Leipzig. Chances were at a premium in their 2-0 loss to title candidates Leipzig, who stopped Josh Sargent and Co. from scoring for the first time since Matchday 32 of last season. Romano Schmid was handed his full Bundesliga debut at the Red Bull Arena but is expected to make way for Yuya Osako in the attack. Manchester United loanee Tahith Chong is a viable alternative, with top scorer Niclas Füllkrug and Milot Rashica still on the sidelines.
This fixture saw the first-ever Bundesliga goal, scored by Timo Konietzka in the first minute at the Weser Stadion in 1963. Bremen has not beaten Dortmund since 9 December 2017 and they have only lost more games in their history to Bayern Munich than they have to BVB (44).
Bremen: Pavlenka - Gebre Selassie (c), Toprak, Friedl - Mbom, Eggestein, Möhwald, Augustinsson - Chong, Bittencourt - Sargent
Out: Füllkrug (calf), Rashica (thigh), Selke (thigh)
Doubtful: -
Coach: Florian Kohfeldt
Dortmund head north not only without the services of their chief marksman, the 10-goal Haaland but on the back of a heavy 5-1 home loss to Stuttgart that cost Favre his job after two-and-a-half years at the helm. Assistant coach Edin Terzic has been appointed on an interim basis until the end of the current campaign, the 38-year-old initially charged with ending a run of three Bundesliga matches without a win. Favre's ex-deputy won’t be able to call on right-back Thomas Meunier or attacker Thorgan Hazard but may be tempted to hand record-breaking teenager Youssoufa Moukoko a first Bundesliga start as the attacking leader of a Dortmund side that has not scored more once in any of their three league games since Haaland hit four second-half goals in the 5-2 win at Hertha Berlin on Matchday 8.
Marco Reus has never lost in Bremen, against whom he has scored 13 goals and provided eight assists in 17 meetings. Dortmund has scored at least once in their previous 18 meetings with Bremen. Gio Reyna has scored in each of his last two outings in the German top-flight, after netting Dortmund's consolation against Stuttgart on Saturday.
Dortmund: Bürki - Can, Hummels, Akanji - Morey, Dahoud, Witsel, Guerreiro - Sancho, Reus (c), Reyna
Out: Haaland (muscular), Meunier (calf), Schmelzer (knee)
Doubtful: Akanji (knee), Delaney (back), Hazard (muscular), Reinier (not included)
Coach: Edin Terzić

Both sides don’t have too much to offer defensively at the moment, so both teams to score is the only reasonable bet for the next match.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
