Bremen will host Bielefeld in a much better mood than after the first home loss of the season in the first round because Niclas Füllkrug hat-trick eased them to victory over Schalke last Saturday.
Niclas Füllkrug scored his second Bundesliga hat-trick as Werder Bremen leaving the team from Gelzenkirhen rock bottom of the table and without a coach after two rounds. The USA starlet Josh Sargent played much better than in the opening round when they lost 4-1 against Hertha, and tried a powerful header to Ludwig Augustinsson's corner, Füllkrug was ideally placed to nick it past Ralf Fährmann for 1-0. Bremen doubled their advantage on 37’, free-kick delivery from Augustinsson, simple header for the unmarked Füllkrug. Bremen were in firm control by half-time.
Schalke had a couple of excellent chances to halve the deficit at the start of the second half, and when the hosts looked able to score, Bremen delivered a knockout, with Füllkrug winning and coolly converting a penalty after being brought down by Ozan Kabak. Füllkrug is the first Bremen player to score a Bundesliga hat-trick since Max Kruse in November 2017, when the Green-Whites beat Hannover 4-0. He is now joint-top of the scoring charts alongside Bayern's Serge Gnabry and Hoffenheim's Andrej Kramaric. Five of Füllkrug's last eight goals have come from set-pieces. He converted his first penalty for Bremen, making it five out of six in the Bundesliga. Sargent forced an excellent late save from Fährmann and Schalke scored an injury-time consolation goal for Mark Uth until the end.
Bremen: Pavlenka – Gebre Selassie, Veljkovic, Friedl, Augustinsson – Mbom, M. Eggestein, Klaassen (c) – Bittencourt, Füllkrug, Sargent
Doubtful: Rashica (knee), Toprak (calf)
Out: Möhwald (match fitness)
Coach: Florian Kohfeldt
Joan Simun Edmundsson scored the only goal of the game as Bielefeld got their first victory since their return to the Bundesliga at home to Koln. Both teams looked to press the other whenever the chance arose but Koln had better chances in the first half through Anderson and Sebastiaan Bornauw. Bielefeld left-back Anderson-Lenda Lucoqui drew the first stop out of Timo Horn when tipping a hit from range over the bar. The second half followed a similar pattern, but Koln looked to push for a goal more and was punished by Arminia who found a late breakthrough. A long ball from goalkeeper Ortega, Edmundsson beat the offside trap and placed his shot between goalkeeper and post to send 5,460 Bielefeld fans into delight and record the club’s first win in the Bundesliga for over 11 years. Edmundsson became the first player from the Faroe Islands to feature and also the first from his country to score in the Bundesliga. This was Bielefeld’s first Bundesliga win in 12 games, dating back to their 1-0 victory over Karlsruhe in March 2009. Bielefeld extended their unbeaten run in league matches this calendar year to 18 (W10, D8).
Bielefeld: Ortega – Brunner, Pieper, van der Hoorn, Lucoqui – Doan, Prietl, Hartel – Soukou, Klos (c), Cordova
Doubtful: Müller (muscular)
Out: De Medina (knee), Voglsammer (foot)
Coach: Uwe Neuhaus

Werder must be the favorite to win this game despite the fact they are still trying to found consistency in their performances. A home win is our preferable bet.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
