West Brom host Chelsea in Week 3 of the Premier League at The Hawthorns (West Bromwich) on Saturday, September 26 and the game kicks off at 5.30pm (UK).
MATCH PREVIEW
West Brom started their new Premier League campaign with a whimper as they lost their home opening match against Leicester and followed it with an away defeat to Everton. They have also shipped eight goals in those games and they will have to improve significantly defensively if they are to avoid the immediate return to the Championship. It will be difficult to kick-start their season against Chelsea, but they got to show resilience rather sooner than later.
Chelsea won comfortably on their opening day match away to Brighton (1-3), but faltered in league's first match-up between top-four clubs. They welcomed defending champions Liverpool, and ended up losing 0-2 in what was really a conservative and uninspiring display on their behalf. They were playing with ten men in the second-half, but the game-plan throughout the match was to lump forward balls to Timo Werner. With the change of tactics, they will hope to get back on track against West Brom.
MATCH ANALYSIS
West Brom manager Slaven Bilic will appeal against the two-match touchline ban given by the Football Association for his 'improper conduct' in Everton match. As if the Baggies campaign could not have started any worse. However, they were a better side in the first-half up until the double send-off. Bilic will look to take the positives from this game and bounce back immediately. It will be a really difficult task, though, as early signs are that of a struggle, and the string of losses is something they'll try to avoid. The game against Chelsea this weekend will be a chance, albeit slim one, to pick themselves up and get some points.
As for Chelsea, they entered the new season much improved in terms of squad depth, bringing in several world-class players this summer. However, for various reasons, only Werner and Havertz have featured so far, and it leaves Chelsea's boss Frank Lampard exposed a bit as the expectations are running high. The game against the Reds also highlighted the goalkeeper issue as Kepa was again at fault for Liverpool's second goal. His confidence is shot and the addition of Edouard Mendy from Rennes will hopefully take care of that. He passed his medical in midweek but it will probably be too soon to expect him between the posts on Saturday.

When it comes to facts and stats, looking back over the last decade, the two sides have played 15 times. The Baggies have won 3 and the Blues have won 9 , while 3 ended in a draw.
West Brom have kept 7 clean sheets in their last 20 home games and the visitors have missed the net in 6 of their last 20 away league games.
West Brom's home games have seen 55% of their home matches ending with both teams scoring (W5 -D0-L6), and Chelsea's percentage of their away games finishing with both teams scoring is much higher at 80% (W9-D4-L3)
Finally, when these sides have faced each other, there has been an average of 2.73 goals per game. Out of these, West Brom have scored an average of 1.0 goals, while Chelsea have averaged 1.73.
With West Brom struggling, and Chelsea looking to stamp their mark on the Premier league this season, the visitors will have no time for complacency, so I predict the Chelsea win.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
