WEST BROM VS
CRYSTAL PALACE MATCH ANALYSIS
The Baggies are no longer one of the two Premier League sides not to have
recorded a win yet in this campaign. That honour is now solely reserved for
their last weekend’s opponents Sheffield Utd. After that minimal but precious
win, West Brom are 18th in the standings with six points (W1, D3, L6). As for
Crystal Palace, the Eagles are in 15th place in the table with 13 points. After
two consecutive wins against Southampton at home and Manchester United away at
the start of the new campaign, they followed it with two defeats - to Everton
at home and away to Chelsea. Since then they picked up seven points and had a
chance for their first back-to-back wins, but got back-to-back defeats against
Burnley (1-0) and Newcastle (0-2) instead.
The Baggies, upon promotion, do not seem competitive enough at this level , and given their sluggish start to the season, they will have to improve
considerably to avoid the immediate return to the second division. On November
2, they lost to fellow newcomers Fulham (2-0) and replaced them in the
relegation zone, where they still remain, even after their first win of the
campaign. Coming into this weekend’s games, only Fulham has conceded more
Premier League goals this season (19) than West Brom (18), but the Baggies have
another winnable fixture next in Crystal Palace.
WBA desperately needed a win against the Blades at the weekend, and they
managed to get one thanks to Conor Gallagher’s goal. Boss Slaven Bilic said
beating Sheffield was more important for the psychological boost than the three
points as his side moved briefly out of the relegation zone. The visitors threw
players forward in the closing stages in a desperate attempt to rescue a point,
but Johnstone in their goal, who has been one of the few
bright spots for them this season, was imperious.
Crystal
Palace, on the other hand, had the best
start to the season ever with two wins on the trot, including a historical 1-3
win against Manchester United. However, the honeymoon was over before they
could have reveled in it for too long. The Eagles followed it with two defeats
before they shared the spoils with Brighton. The see-saw results have continued
as they lost to Wolves, came with three points from Leeds match, and lost again
against struggling Burnley. They recorded their fifth defeat in eight games
against the Magpies next as their poor run of form continues.
It was Palace’s second home defeat of the season, but Roy Hodgson’s
side had looked more likely to break the deadlock and the visitors had
goalkeeper Karl Darlow to thank for keeping them in the game. Sadly for Palace,
we are starting to see the real Joelinton after the forward had a hand in two
late goals to secure the win for the visitors. It looks like the capital club
have been struggling ever since key player Wilfried Zaha suffered an injury,
and they will most likely have to do without the Ivory Coast international
again.

West Brom have lost just one of their six Premier League home games against Crystal Palace (W2 D3), since March 2017, but more recently Crystal Palace are unbeaten in four meetings with West Brom (W3 D1), keeping a clean sheet each time.
Matheus Pereira will be a man to watch in West Brom side, as he created 9 chances against Sheffield Utd, the most by a player in a single Premier League game so far this season.
Crystal Palace, on the other hand, have won just two of their last 17 Premier League games without Wilfried Zaha (L15). Also worryingly, Crystal Palace have conceded in each of their last nine Premier League matches.
BettingKick’s prediction for the West Brom vs Crystal Palace match is: Under 2.5 goals

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
