West Brom host Man Utd at the Hawthorns (West Bromwich) in the 24th round of the Premier League and the match kicks off at 2 pm (UK) on Sunday, February 14. Read our reasons for West Brom vs Man Utd prediction and betting tips.
West Brom face a huge uphill battle in their bid to avoid relegation. Sam Allardyce's side are second from the bottom, eleven points adrift of safety heading into Sunday's game, and must deal with the fact that both Fulham and Burnley ahead of them have a game in hand to play. The Baggies have lost four of their last five PL games (D1), with the most recent defeat coming at Tottenham (2-0). Manc United, on the other hand, visit the Hawthorns on Sunday, in a bid to keep within a respectable range of league leaders Man City. For all of the fanfare about City's victory against Liverpool and the significance it may have in the title race, United sit second and are only five points behind their noisy neighbors, despite City having a game in hand.
West Brom still haven’t fully convinced in their ability to continue climbing up the standings after they followed the win at Wolves with another five PL games without a win (D1, L4). Albion had conceded 13 goals in their past five Premier League games and are without a win in 13 from 14 in all competitions (D4, L9). The leakiest back four in the Premier League have now shipped 54 goals and scored only 18 – only bottom Sheffield scored less (14).
On Sunday, against the Spurs, Harry Kane and Son Heung-min both scored in the same Premier League game for the sixth time this season. West Brom boss Sam Allardyce moved in-form Matheus Pereira to the bench in a bid to cure the defensive ailments that have plagued their campaign. It worked to an extent as Albion frustrated their hosts for long spells but they were still reliant on hosts' wastefulness. Had they displayed this sort of defensive fortitude in previous games, West Brom might not be in the desperate position in which they find themselves.
Man Utd haven’t been this close to the top of the table at this stage of a campaign since the Sir Alex Ferguson era and will feel this is the right time for another assured display after an unfortunate stoppage-time equalizer against Everton in the league last weekend and an FA Cup Round 5 win against their former manager’s West Ham. The Red Devils are flying at the moment, but the jury is still out whether United are genuine title contenders, so the progress in the FA Cup will be seen as a statement of intent.
Man Utd maintained their pursuit of silverware after beating West Ham 1-0 in the Emirates FA Cup in their last outing. Scott McTominay’s strike in extra-time was enough to see the Red Devils progress to the quarter-finals of the competition. United will visit the Black Country in high spirits after extending their unbeaten run across all competitions to four games and Ole Gunnar Solskjær will be determined to help United finish in the top-two for the first time during his tenure.

West Brom meet Man Utd at Hawthorns for the first time since 2017 and Albion’s last home triumph over United came courtesy of Salomon Rondon's strike, which secured a 1-0 win in March 2016. The Baggies only have 4 wins to their name compared to United’s 12 in the last 20 matches.
Sam Allardyce's appointment has not had the desired impact, with the Baggies conceding 28 league goals in ten matches – more than they shipped in 13 games under Slaven Bilic. Survival expert’ Allardyce’s 100% survival rate looks in jeopardy, with a fixture against Man Utd on the horizon.
Meanwhile, potentially fatigued after a 1-0 extra-time win in midweek FA Cup action, Manchester United are still clear favourites. They have now attained their best run of 18 top-flight away games unbeaten (W14, D4) and should be confident here, even if they concede first, as they’ve won all seven away league fixtures this term in which they’ve done so.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
