WEST HAM VS ASTON VILLA MATCH ANALYSIS
The Hammers are in 8th place with 14 points after nine weeks (W4-D2-L3). They have been producing fine displays in the Premier League recently, with only one defeat in their last seven fixtures. They went on the international break on a positive note after defeating Fulham (1-0) at home, then followed it with another 1-0 win at Sheffield last weekend. As for Aston Villa, they got off to a fantastic start, having won their first four league matches, but have since suffered three consecutive home defeats at the hands of Leeds, Southampton, and most recently, Brighton. They shipped nine goals in the process. One win in the last four league games (L3) finds them in7th with 15 points and a game in hand.
The Hammers have had some fantastic results so far. They shared the spoils with Man City at home (1-1 ) and had easily dispatched the likes of Wolves (4-0) and Leicester (0-3) and drew against the Spurs after an astonishing comeback (3-3). They know how to raise their game against top clubs, but victories against lesser opposition, such as Sheffield Utd on November 22, are just as important if they want to finish in the top ten.
Against the Blades, Sebastien Haller's superb strike was enough for a win, which moved West Ham into the top half of the table. The Hammers grew in confidence and in control as the game went on, and were a constant threat down both flanks through Rice and Soucek in the absence of Michail Antonio with a hamstring injury. David Moyes’ men have now lost just once in their past seven fixtures and always looked capable of scoring. Londoners are now just a point behind and could leapfrog their visitors with a win.
Aston Villa, on the other hand, suffered a dip in their form recently, with the team experiencing all sorts of defensive problems in three straight home defeats - to Leeds (0-3), Southampton (3-4), and lastly, Brighton (1-2). Villa were deservedly second-best in those games, unable to compete with the visitors' intensity and energy, but they nevertheless found the energy to demolish Arsenal at the Emirates (0-3) on matchday 8.
Against the Seagulls, their misery after the defeat was also compounded by the injury to Ros Barkley. Trezeguet and Watkins were too wasteful in the match and the Brighton defense also proved resilient enough. No team has conceded more home Premier League goals than Aston Villa and Newcastle this season (11), but fortunately for them, they have put in some truly impressive performances on the road.

The Hammers quickly bounced back from a 2-1 loss to Liverpool, with the team beating both Fulham and Sheffield United by one goal to nil, but they haven’t won three straight PL games without conceding since 2013/14. The capital club want to keep on climbing the standings, but their solidity at home has often come at the cost of entertainment, with three of four games here producing under 2.5 total goals
The Villans, on the other hand, will eye to bounce from a 2-1 loss to the Seagulls, and given their attacking potential, they should not worry too much about the fact that they are winless in their last five Premier League away games against West Ham (D3 L2), failing to score in four of those visits. However, they will have a chance to set the club’s record with the first four wins on the road in the league.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
