West Ham host Leicester at the Olympic Stadium (London) in the 31st round of the Premier League and the match kicks off at 2.05 pm (UK) on Sunday, April 11. Read our reasons for West Ham vs Leicester prediction and betting tips.
West Ham clung to three points against Wolves on Monday when it should have been comfortable. They went in at half-time 3-0 up only to see out the game for a 3-2 win. Next up for the Hammers is a home clash with Leicester, who are four points above them in third, but West Ham did claim a surprise 3-0 success at King Power Stadium earlier this season. Meanwhile, the Foxes got back from the international break with a 2-0 loss to Man City at home. However, this has been a fixture for the travelling side over the last four meetings and Leicester can surely put a dent in Hammers’ hopes of an unlikely finish in the Champions League place.
David Moyes has tried to play down West Ham’s chances of finishing in a Champions League position throughout the second half of the season. But, it is fairly difficult to do that now, given that the Hammers are sitting in fourth with eight games of the season remaining. This is one of the biggest tests that West Ham have remaining this term, and they will be searching for a first league double over Leicester for the first time since the 1999-00 season.
West Ham is on target for a return to European football next season though will it be the Champions League or Europa League? At this stage of the campaign, they have every chance of making it into Europe’s elite competition, but there’s still work to be done if they are to see off neighbours Chelsea and Tottenham. Despite their most recent clashes against Leicester, Moyes’ side will be boosted with home advantage for this fixture, as they have picked up 28 points from the games played in London this term, with only Man City boasting a better home record this term.
On the other hand, Leicester are looking to get back to winning ways and will be encouraged by the fact that they are one of just six teams that are yet to taste defeat at the London Stadium since it opened. The Foxes are sitting in the third position in the league, but defeat this weekend could see West Ham close to within a point, while Chelsea, Spurs, and Liverpool could also narrow the gap. Leicester have won just twice in their previous five, while they have also suffered two defeats during the same run of form.
One plus point for the Foxes was getting James Maddison on for the final 20 minutes after six weeks on the sidelines and Leicester’s injury problems are now clearing up. Before losing to the runaway leaders, they had claimed two Premier League wins and a convincing FA Cup victory over Man United, so this is still a team in good spirits. With 10 of their 17 league wins coming on the road, Leicester are masters at picking opponents off on the break as games open up and that is a likely scenario we’ll see here.

West Ham meet Leicester being winless in their last five outings at home against the Foxes (D2 L3), losing 2-1 last season. Moreover, Leicester are one of six away teams who are yet to lose a Premier League match at the London Stadium.
Both teams finished the last round of fixtures in the leading quartet but we still reckon the Foxes are better equipped to sustain their challenge for Champions League qualification.
