West Ham host Manchester City in the 6th week of the Premier League at the Olympic Stadium (London) on Saturday, October 24 and the match kicks off at 12.30pm (UK).
MATCH PREVIEW
West Ham started the campaign with two consecutive defeats, but since their 3rd round 4-0 win against Wolves, which was their first win in the league, the Hammers followed it by another three points from the equally impressive away win (0-3) at Leicester and a gritty but spectacular draw (3-3) against the Spurs after the international break. Seven points from their three-matches-unbeaten run have been enough to put them in the 8th place in the league ahead of their Saturday’s match.
As for Man City, It looks like Guardiola's side is still struggling to get things going for this new seasons with three wins from their first five matches. They are in the 9th place in the table with 7 points, albeit with a game in hand, but Pep Guardiola will be satisfied after they defeated Arsenal (1-0) last weekend to get back on the winning ways.
MATCH ANALYSIS
The Hammers have managed to regroup after a poor start of the campaign to record an emphatic victory against Wolves which was followed by an even more splendid away win in Leicester as they won successive Premier League games while keeping a clean sheet for the first time since May 2019. The Hammers continued in style as they came back from three goals down with under 10 minutes to go to rescue a point in an astonishing comeback against Tottenham after the international break. Manuel Lanzini's brilliant long-range strike in injury time levelled the scores after Spurs had taken complete control in the opening 16 minutes through two goals from Harry Kane and one from Son Heung-min, which makes West Ham the first team in Premier League history to avoid defeat in a game having trailed by 3+ goals as late as the 81st minute. Let’s see if they can continue their little unbeaten run against the last season’s runners-up on Saturday.
Man City have now found a new rock-solid center-back in Benfika's Ruben Dias, as the lack of one, cost them too many points last season.Their defensive struggles continued into this campaign, but now they believe they have finally found a Vincent Kompany replacement in £65m defender, who was given his debut against Leeds. This signing may galvanize the team in the longer run, but It is difficult to predict how far they are going to go without their star players, Aguero and Jesus in the attack. However, they are still the powerhouse in the PL, which was proven against the Gunners in the last round as stand-in skipper Raheem Sterling scored the only goal of the match. The three points came without De Bruyne and with the returning Sergio Aguero restricted to an hour's action on his first appearance since June after recovering from a knee injury. This was Guardiola’s 500th win in all competition and we’ll see if he can make it 501 when they visit London at the weekend.

West Ham and Man City have met 36 times since 2005 and City have fared far better in their head-to-head matches with 26 wins to West Ham’s 5. They have also scored 2.25 goals on average to Hammers’ measly 0.61. With Aguero back and refreshed defense, having won last 9 matches against West Ham in all competition, the chances are the visitors get the whole three points,
So, my prediction is: Man City win

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
