Wolfsburg meets RB Leipzig on Saturday afternoon for a must-see battle.
Wout Weghorst will once again be the key man for Wolfsburg, the club's top scorer sitting fourth in the league-wide goal charts with 10. The Dutchman scored from the spot in the 2-2 draw with Union Berlin last weekend, ending a run of three games without a goal. Weghorst (10) has scored more goals this season than all of Leipzig's strikers combined (nine) but has found the net only once in four meetings with Leipzig in his career. He had Josip Brekalo and Renato Steffen - who also scored at Union - in support last weekend. Wolfsburg - along with Bayern Munich and Eintracht Frankfurt - have yet to suffer defeat at home this campaign. Only the Wolves have won each of their last five home games, however.
The former is back in training after an injury so Ridle Baku could return to right-back with Kevin Mbabu dropping to the bench. Midfielder Maximilian Arnold is suspended which while club captain Josuha Guilavogui may have to be used in central defense with Marin Pongracic and Maxence Lacroix both struggling for match fitness.
Wolfsburg: Casteels - Baku, Guilavogui (c), Brooks, Otavio - Schlager, Gerhardt - Brekalo, Philipp, Steffen - Weghorst
Out: Arnold (suspended), Bruma (not included), Roussillon (not included)
Doubtful: -
Coach: Oliver Glasner
Nagelsmann's side fell to only their second loss of the season in the Bundesliga last weekend, and their highest with a 1-3 margin against Dortmund and they are looking to bounce back from a rare defeat. Despite conceding three times last time out, Leipzig still has the best defense in the league (12 goals conceded), with Wolfsburg the third-best (17). Yussuf Poulsen led the line against BVB while Alexander Sörloth bagged his first Bundesliga after coming off the bench. Julian Nagelsmann could set-up without an out-and-out striker this time, with Emil Forsberg an option as a false 9.
Christopher Nkunku and Justin Kluivert have returned to training, although whether they can dislodge Dani Olmo and Amadou Haidara in the final third remains to be seen. USMNT's Tyler Adams could slot into midfield with Marcel Sabitzer and Kevin Kampl both nursing injuries recently. January signing Dominik Szoboszlai is not yet fit to make his debut following his winter arrival from Red Bull Salzburg.
Leipzig: Gulacsi - Klostermann, Upamecano, Orban (c) - Mukiele, Adams, Kampl, Angelino - Olmo, Haidara - Forsberg
Out: Henrichs (knee), Konate (ankle), Laimer (knee), Szoboszlai (groin)
Doubtful: Sabitzer (groin)
Coach: Julian Nagelsmann

Leipzig has never suffered two defeats in a row under Nagelsmann. They made some unusual defensive mistakes in the last match against Dortmund, but this time could be different so we see value in the away win despite Wolfsburg’s quality and home ground.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
