Wolves host Brighton at the Molineux Stadium (Wolverhampton) in the 35th round of the Premier League and the match kicks off at 12 pm (UK) on Sunday, May 9. Read our reasons for Wolves vs Brighton prediction and betting tips.
Five points separate the two sides ahead of their meeting on Sunday, with both surely safe from relegation. Wolves have only lost one of their last four matches but were held to a 1-1 draw by relegation-threatened West Brom last time out. On the other hand, Brighton ended a four-game winless streak with a 2-0 win over Leeds last weekend. Wolves have remarkably failed to score in each of their last four home games against Brighton and three of those games have ended 0-0. Not one for the neutrals, this.
Wolves come into the game with a disappointing 1-1 draw against a West Brom side, who is currently in the 19th position, on the verge of losing their Premier League status. There is immense pressure on the Wolves team, especially after their 4-0 loss against Burnley, with Nuno Espirito Santos and his men struggling in the 12th position, and their ambition to finish in the top half of the Premier League getting unlikely as they continue to drop vital points.
Wolves bounced back from a drubbing by Burnley with a solid Black Country derby draw at The Hawthorns. Wanderers got lucky with Fabio Silva’s first-half fluke before Mbaye Diagne levelled but overall that looked a fair result. After two exciting campaigns in the top flight, this season has been a bit of an anti-climax for Wolves, who are resigned to mid-table mediocrity. The overall form isn’t great though with only two wins in nine (D3, L4), but now they have a chance to get three points and gain much-needed confidence.
As for Brighton, the Seagulls finally erased any remaining relegation fears when ending a four-match winless run with a 2-0 home victory over Leeds. Albion moved 10 points clear of the drop zone after Pascal Gross converted an early penalty and Danny Welbeck put the result beyond doubt late on. Graham Potter also hailed the efforts of captain Lewis Dunk after he led the Seagulls to a 12th clean sheet of the campaign with an assured defensive display.
It was 3-3 when Brighton entertained Wolves at the start of the year but two of their previous three stalemates were goalless. Graham Potter’s side have claimed more points on the road (20) than at Amex Stadium this season (17), although goals are often a rare commodity. Eight of their previous 11 PL away matches produced under 2.5. On the subject of goals, the first could be key given that the Seagulls have secured just one away point after conceding the opener (D1, L6).

Wolves meet Brighton having previously won just one of their last 13 league meetings with the Seagulls (D8, L4), with each of the last four games between the sides ending level. Wolves have never won a top-flight game against Brighton in 11 attempts (D4, L7) – the most one team has faced another in English top-flight history without recording a win. Wolves have also failed to score in eight of their 11 top-flight meetings with Brighton. They’ve netted six goals against the Seagulls in total, with half of these coming in their 3-3 draw in the reverse meeting at the turn of the year.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
