Wolves host Burnley at the Molineux Stadium (Wolverhampton) in the 33rd round of the Premier League and the match kicks off at 12 pm (UK) on Sunday, April 25. Read our reasons for Wolves vs Burnley prediction and betting tips.
The Wanderers have recorded back-to-back victories in the Premier League to all but end fears of getting sucked into a relegation battle. Nuno Espirito Santo has overseen 1-0 wins over Fulham and Sheffield United to go 14 points clear of the drop zone. Wolves also have a game in hand on the Cottagers, meaning there really is now no danger of going down. As for Burnley, they have lost three in a row, though last weekend's 3-1 defeat to Man United certainly flatters the Red Devils. The Clarets are now just one place above the bottom three and while they are six points clear of the drop, they will be desperate to arrest their slump in results as quickly as possible.
Adama Traore teed up Willian Jose for a game-winning goal against the Blades on Saturday night and his first goal in gold and black. And despite being pleased with another three points and a clean sheet in the two Premier League wins on the bounce, there’s a feeling Nuno’s team need to manage games better when they are on top. Having become more stable at the back in recent weeks though, Wolves need to add more goals to their game and start putting their opposition to the sword rather than relying on a narrow winning margin.
Nevertheless, Wolves still have an outside chance of sneaking into the top half of the table. However, Wanderers were only workmanlike in edging out both struggling Fulham and relegated Sheffield Utd. Willian Jose’s goal on the hour mark was enough to send the Blades down last weekend, but that was a relatively uninspiring performance. Wolves tend to be involved in more than their fair share of low-scoring matches, but both Wolves and Burnley have netted in their last three meetings and the trend could likely continue here.
Meanwhile, despite an improved Clarets performance against Man United at Old Trafford, they remain in need of points to secure their Premier League status. For Sean Dyche, there were positives to take as the Clarets struck more of a balance between defence and attack than they had in their previous two matches in defeats to Southampton and Newcastle. But two late United goals meant Burnley left empty-handed and saw their advantage over the bottom three cut to six points.
Burnley have slid to 17th in the table as a consequence and are nervously looking over their shoulders at Fulham and a resurgent West Brom. The inability to close out games against Southampton and Newcastle have meant Burnley still have work to do in the closing six matches and although the performance at Old Trafford was an improved one, the Clarets had nothing to show for it. Wolves away on Sunday is a crunch clash and Sean Dyche’s side should at least be boosted by the fact they are unbeaten in the last four meetings between the two sides.

Wolves meet Burnley having won just one of their last nine league games against the Clarets (D4, L4) after completing the league double over Burnley in the 2009/10 Premier League campaign. On the other hand, Burnley are looking to complete their first league double over Wolves since the 2012/13 Championship campaign, with the Clarets winless in their last three at Molineux since then (D2, L1).
Wolves home games have been notoriously low-scoring affairs this season, so the BettingKick’s Wolves vs Burnley prediction is: Under 2.5 goals

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
