WOLVES VS CHELSEA MATCH ANALYSIS
Wolves were unbeaten in four games (W3-D1) before losing to Leicester (1-0) before the international break. Since then, they have picked up four points from the next four games - a home draw against the Saints (1-1) and a win at the Emirates (1-2) a fortnight ago. However, they lost the next two games, comfortably to defending champions Liverpool (4-0) and at home against ten-men Aston Villa (0-1), which puts them in 10th place with 17 points. As for Chelsea, they were undefeated in 17 matches in all competitions and have won eight games out of the last nine (D1) before this weekend. In the PL they were unbeaten in the last nine games (W5-D4), and could have finished the weekend topping the PL table before they lost to Everton on Saturday (1-0). put them in the 3rd place in the table with 22 points
The Wolves have been blowing hot and cold recently. After losing key players Matt Doherty and Diogo Jota to other Premier League clubs, it took Wolves a little time for new players to ease in. The loss of Raul Jimenez through head injury is a big blow, but youngsters like Pedro Neto and Max Kilman have established themselves in the first XI. However, Wolves are yet to score more than twice in a Premier League match so far this season, with the bottom two sides Burnley and Sheffield Utd, the only other sides yet to do so. The goals were lacking against Aston Villa, too.
On Saturday, El Ghazi converted a stoppage-time penalty as Aston Villa grabbed a win in the West Midlands derby at Wolves. With Jimenez sidelined, Nuno Espirito Santo gave the first Premier League start to 18-year-old striker Silva, their club record £35.6m summer signing from Porto, who went close on a couple of occasions and had a lively performance. With a four-man defence, Wolves looked solid for the most part, until Semedo brought down John McGinn in injury-time.
As for Chelsea, after securing the top spot in their Champions League group E, Lampard rested the key players for the Premier League fixture against Everton in a midweek CL fixture against Krasnodar. Olivier Giroud, who scored all four goals against the Spaniards and also at the weekend against Leeds, was leading the attack again at the weekend. However, he did not continue his scoring streak as Chelsea have now lost just their second match since the start of the season (W11-D7-L2).
The Toffees ended Chelsea's 17-game unbeaten run with victory at Goodison Park. Hosting supporters for the first time this season, Everton's hard-fought win came courtesy of Gylfi Sigurdsson's first-half penalty after Edouard Mendy fouled Dominic Calvert-Lewin. Chelsea took time to integrate their summer signings, which topped £200m, but after their recent form, it looks as though they have started to click. However, the defeat on the night meant they were denied the chance to go top and remain third.

In 12 head-to-head encounters between the two sides, Chelsea hold a clear advantage. They have won nine games, lost two, and drawn one.
The two clubs last faced each other in July this year, with Chelsea beating Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-0.
Wolves lost key striker Raul Jimenez to a serious head injury and teenage striker Fabio Silva and Daniel Podence have been used as alternate options in attack. Nuno Espirito Santo's side has not been at their very best this season, and have won only one of their last five games.
Chelsea, on the other hand, were in good form prior to the Everton game. The form of Kai Havertz has been a cause for concern, but Lampard’s side has played some brilliant football in recent weeks, and the squad depth is among the best in the league. Wolves are struggling without Jimenez and will be the underdogs coming into this game.
