WOLVES VS EVERTON MATCH ANALYSIS
Nuno Espirito Santo’s Wolves have now gone four games without a win (D2, L2) in the Premier League and the last Saturday’s draw at Brighton was particularly painful after they squandered the two-goal lead in the second-half. They are sitting in 13th place with 22 points and will look to end the barren run with a home win in order to keep their top-six hopes alive. The visitors, on the other hand, come into this game on the back of a 1-0 defeat against West Ham at Goodison Park, which ended their four-game winning streak in the league. The Toffees are in 7th place in the first week of a new calendar year but could finish the weekend in the top-four with a win in midweek.
With the second of the three home games coming up for Wolves, hopefully, they can get at least a couple of positive results to keep the season going in the right direction. Despite their injury problems they have played well in recent games against Chelsea, Man Utd, and Spurs and should really have won at Brighton but for a silly penalty given away and poor defending from a corner. But having 6 first-team players out injured inevitably takes its toll as it would for any club. The Mexico international Raul Jimenez’s absence has shown a bluntness in the attack, with youngster Fabio Silva still learning his trade. Pedro Neto has impressed, while Daniel Podence and Adama Traore could prove to be crucial if they want to challenge for one of the European berths. However, after their latest disappointing share of points with Brighton in the league, Wolves have only won one of their last seven matches (L4, D2).
As for Everton, it finally looks like some of Ancelotti’s class has finally started rubbing off on the team as well. Everton have done well so far despite the absence of James Rodriguez in midfield. Dominic Calvert-Lewin has arguably been the Toffees standout performer so far, with the England international scoring 19 goals in all competitions and impressing with his all-round play. Despite being knocked out of the Carabao Cup by Man Utd on December 23, Everton won their Boxing Day match against the Blades on the back of probably their biggest three wins of the campaign so far against Chelsea (1-0), Leicester (0-2), and Arsenal (2-1). However, against West Ham most recently, Everton missed out on climbing to second in the table. Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti has built his teams around defensive stability, but this time they lacked creativity and weren’t able to dominate going forward after the Hammers proved too difficult to break down.

Wolves have lost one of their six home Premier League matches against Everton (W2 D3), but Everton haven’t lost consecutive league games against them since 1979.
Only Sheffield Utd (20) are on a longer current run of Premier League games without a clean sheet than Wolves (10), while Everton are looking to win three consecutive Premier League away games without conceding for the first time since 2008, following victories at Leicester and Sheffield last month.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
