Wolves host Liverpool at the Moulinex Stadium (Wolverhampton) in the 28th round of the Premier League and the match kicks off at 8 pm (UK) on Monday, March 15. Read our reasons for Wolves vs Liverpool prediction and betting tips.
Wolves’ recent Premier League goalless draw with Aston Villa deepened their reputation for ponderous attacking without Raúl Jiménez leading the line. They have only lost one of their last seven league matches but are winless in three. Meanwhile, Liverpool’s midweek win over RB Leipzig was a huge confidence booster, but they’ve got their work cut out to finish in the top four. With Anfield turning from a fortress to a sandcastle this year, losing their sixth straight home match against Fulham last time out, an away day might suit Liverpool, as each of their last four league wins have come on the road.
After finishing seventh for the past two seasons, Wolves have slipped down into mid-table mediocrity this term. Losing leading marksman Raul Jimenez to injury was a crushing blow and they have struggled to recover, having also sold off key men Matt Doherty and Diogo Jota. On the other hand, high-priced teenager Fabio Silva does not seem ready for this level and has just two league goals, but Pedro Neto will be integral to Wolves’ efforts to ensure Liverpool leave with no points.
Having scored just 28 goals in 28 games this season, Wolves are currently one of the lowest-scoring teams in the Premier League. The Midlands club have, of course, been hindered by a long-term injury to their main man, but Nuno Espirito Santo’s side need to be a bit more ambitious during games. Nuno Espírito Santo has stuck with his 3-5-2 setup this season, but Wolves have lacked a real focal point in attack.
As for Liverpool, it is hard to fathom why the Reds have lost six of seven top-flight fixtures since securing impressive 3-1 wins at Tottenham and West Ham. Jurgen Klopp must just keep his fingers crossed that the form shown in a couple of 2-0 triumphs over RB Leipzig can be transferred to this competition. Salah and Sadio Mane grabbed the midweek goals in Budapest, but the return of Fabinho to a midfield holding position was another significant feature.
His presence gave Liverpool a far more comfortable look and freed up Thiago Alcantara to control play in this crucial area. The Reds currently sit eighth in the table, seven points behind fourth-placed Chelsea, but still have time to climb back up into the Champions League spots. Liverpool are unlikely to run riot, as they did when crushing Wanderers 4-0 at Anfield in early December. However, a win here is not out of the equation against goal-shy Wolves.

Wolves meet Liverpool having previously lost their last eight Premier League meetings with the Reds. Wanderers have lost only one of their last seven Premier League matches (W3 D3), having lost four of their six prior to this run (D2), while Liverpool haven’t lost an away league game against Wolves since August 1981, winning four and drawing three of their seven trips to Molineux since.
Wolves are looking to record back-to-back home Premier League wins for only the second time in the last two seasons, but Liverpool should be too strong if reproducing the performance from Tuesday’s CL victory over RB Leipzig. We expect a low-scoring affair and give Liverpool marginally more chances to win here as Mohamed Salah still heads the domestic Golden Boot table.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
