Millwall
1 - 2
Wycombe host Millwall in the 5th round of the Championship at Adams Park (High Wycombe) on Saturday, October 17 and the match kicks off at 3pm (UK).
MATCH PREVIEW
Wycombe are 23rd in the table, without any points so far, and frankly, only above rock bottom because of Sheffield Wed's 12 points deduction before the season even started. Wycombe have now lost all their four league games so far without scoring once and shipping 10 goals in the process. As for Millwall, they are in 11th place with 5 points from their solitary win against Rotherham away (0-1) in the second round and two draws respectively, against Stoke on their opening day home debut (0-0) and their London rivals, Brentford (1-1). Their first defeat in the league (2-1) came before the international break against Swansea.
MATCH ANALYSIS
Wycombe Wanderers' wait for a Championship point goes on after Luton continued their bright start to the season with a 2-0 victory at the Kenilworth Road. The Chairboys have now become only the third newly promoted second-tier side to lose their first four league fixtures, but it shouldn't come as a surprise as Wycombe have never played at this level before and they have to come to grip with it as they showed their naivety in all of their outings so far.
Wycombe's high press is too easily bypassed which leaves their midfield split open each time they opt to press. In fact, Wycombe midfield is largely non-existent once their press is broken, and it is a repeating theme throughout the fixtures. This season for them is virtually like stepping into uncharted territories and since they are unanimously relegation candidates again, it may have a reverse-psychology effect on them as they really haven't got anything to prove or lose.
As for the Lions, they now have five points and three clean sheets so far in the league, and while goals have not come yet, Gary Rowett feels that the foundations have been laid for them to build on their near miss with the play-offs in July. Historically, Millwall have not started seasons out of the blocks and now they have started on the front foot which bodes well for the rest of the campaign.
Gary Rowett brought much needed stability to the team, while still maintaining Millwall's typical aggressiveness with pressing and getting under opponent's skin. The Lions saw their unbeaten start to the league campaign come to an end against the Swans, but if rowett's men are up for it this season they will have to respond against Wycombe who are deservedly underdogs ahead of this match.

As for some stats and facts, these two teams have never shared the league before. Their only head-to-head matches were cup games where interestingly, Wycombe have an upper hand with four wins to Millwall's two. The last one was in an EFL Trophy tie in 2016.
Fast forward to 2020 and Wycombe are on a goalless run of 5 games all competitions and have won just 1 of their last 7 matches in all comps. Millwall, on the other hand, have successfully kept a clean sheet in 5 of their 7 most recent away Championship games and under 2.5 goals have been seen in 16 of Millwall's last 21 league games.
My prediction for this game: Millwall win

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
