Wycombe host Norwich at the Adams Park (High Wycombe) in the 33rd round of the Championship and the match kicks off at 12 pm (UK) on Sunday, February 28. Read our reasons for Wycombe vs Norwich prediction and betting tips.
Rock-bottom Wycombe Wanderers have a Herculean task not just in this game, but in their bid for survival. However, to their credit, they have lost just one of their last four Championship matches and also recorded two clean sheets on the spin after defeating high-flying Reading 1-0 in an impressive victory during midweek. As for the league-topping Norwich, the away team will come in hot with a four-game winning streak in the campaign. They will visit on the back of a 1-3 win on the road against the likes of Birmingham last time out on Tuesday night.
Gareth Ainsworth says his side proved on Tuesday night they can compete with any side in the Championship, but knows Norwich may pose an even tougher challenge than Reading did in the Chairboys’ Tuesday win at Adams Park. Many expected Wycombe to be the whipping boys in the Championship this season, but City boss Farke praised Ainsworth's men ahead of the Sunday’s fixture for the bravery and togetherness in their play. Despite sitting at the bottom of the division, there is still hope amongst players, staff, and supporters that they can avoid the drop.
Ainsworth's side pushed City hard at Carrow Road, only for a stoppage-time free-kick from Mario Vrancic to deny them from leaving Norfolk with a point. Teemu Pukki fired the Canaries ahead before Scott Kashket equalised. Wycombe's boss is hoping his side can use that game as fuel to prove they can compete with the very best sides in this division. The Wanderers currently sit eight points adrift at the bottom of the table but were buoyed by an impressive and hard-fought victory in midweek over play-off chasing Reading at Adams Park.
Meanwhile, his is the fourth game in a row against a team scrapping for survival but so far the Canaries have dealt with Coventry, Rotherham, and Birmingham reasonably smoothly, although all three were awkward and Birmingham’s unexpected attacking ambition nearly caught them out in midweek. This game, top against bottom, has always looked a banana skin in waiting though, but it’s just difficult to see Norwich losing a game at the moment as Daniel Farke’s men are in a good place mentally and physically.
The teams who have caused Norwich the most problems are those who press them high and fast but doing that for 90 minutes against a team so comfortable with passing is very physically draining and can end up leaving them vulnerable at the back, where Buendia or Todd Cantwell can create for Pukki so quickly. Our opinion is that with the Canaries on course for promotion back to the Premier League after a one-year absence, the Chairboys could be in for a tough time this Sunday lunchtime.

Wycombe meet Norwich after losing all five of their matches against the City in all competitions, losing three times in the league and once apiece in the FA and League Cup. Norwich’s last visit to Adams Park was in September 2018 in the League Cup, winning 4-3 and the reverse fixture in October finished 2-1 for the hosts at the Carrow Road.
However, with Wycombe having improved in recent games, with two wins and a draw from their last four games (L1), Farke will not underestimate the capabilities of the home side. Nevertheless, the Canaries have picked up the momentum, and we expect the visitors to claim a hard-fought victory over the Chairboys.
