Wycombe host Swansea in their third-week Championship match at Adam's Park (High Wycombe) on Saturday, September 26 and the match kicks off at 12.30pm (UK).
MATCH PREVIEW
After they lost two opening league games, having scored none while shipping six goals, the reality check is harsh for the hosts who seek to get their first points on the board against Swansea on Saturday. The newly-promoted side have never played at this level before and they have to come to grip with it. Losing 5-0 to Blackburn was a bit of lesson for them last weekend as they could not match Blackburn's clinical performance.
Swansea's last week result was overshadowed a bit by a clash between Swansea's coach Alan Tate and Jon Toral from Blackburn. Alan Tate has been charged by the Football Association with improper/violent conduct for grabbing the colleague's throat and is expected to pay a fine and receive a touchline ban. As for the game itself, Swansea were held to a goalless draw, after their win on the opening day against Preston.
MATCH ANALYSIS
Wycombe were favorites for relegation last season in the League One, but Gareth Ainsworth produced unthinkable miracle and from relegation fodder turned his team into a play-off success. This season for them is virtually like stepping into uncharted territories and since they are unanimously relegation candidates again, it may have a reverse-psychology effect on them as they really haven't got anything to prove or lose.
In spite of losing 0-1, they did alright against their League One buddies, Rotherham last weekend, but against Blackburn they showed their naivety, which was ultimately their downfall. Wycombe's high press was by-passed time and time again, which left their midfield split open each time they opted to press. In fact, Wycombe midfield was non-existent once their press was broken, and it was a repeating theme throughout the match. They have to find the way to beat the odds, and maybe they discover the winning formula against Swansea.
For the Swans, manager Steve Cooper has done brilliantly in his first managerial job despite limited resources and a small squad. They started the 2020/2012 season brightly after an away win against Preston North End (0-1), but they followed it with a draw at home against Birmingham, which was a fair reflection of tight contest on the pitch, albeit a little frustrating for both sides after winning their opening matches of the campaign.
The Swans controlled the ball and had lion's share of possession from the first whistle - 71% at one point. However, they struggled against the high-press up the pitch and created almost nothing attacking-wise. To be fair, Swansea look solid defensively as they are yet to concede this season, which will be one huge positive for Steve Cooper. Against weak Wycombe's defense they could have a field day if they get their priorities right.

As for the facts and stats, looking back over the last decade, these two sides have never faced each other before as this is the first time they share the same division. So we give you their home and away records.
As for Wycombe's record at home over this period, there have been 19 home fixtures with ratio of W9-D4-L6. When away from home in this period Swansea's record is W4-D8-L8.
Wycombe have also kept 6 clean sheets in their last 20 home games while the visitors have missed the net in only 3 of their last 20 away league games.
Wycombe's home games have seen 60% of their home matches ending with both teams scoring (W7 -D1-L4), and Swansea's percentage of their away games finishing with both teams scoring is little higher at 70% (W3-D3-L8)
In Wycombe's home games there has been an average of 2.90 goals per game and Swansea's away games have seen 3.1 goals.
As both team struggle at the moment, my prediction for this game is Under 2.5 goals.

Wyatt grew up in the suburbs of London and he is a big Chelsea fan. As a young boy, he found his love for football, which became an obsession, but when he tried playing it he soon realized that he just wasn't talented enough. Bearing that in mind, Wyatt decided to learn everything there is to know about all the teams and players, with special focus on Premier League and Championship . Wyatt has a big affection for Championship and he is well versed in all the teams and knows their advantages and weak spots very well. He is an economist, and being one makes him good with numbers and also good with the odds. His specialty are BTTS matches.
