Borussia Dortmund travels to Saint Petersburg with their place in the UEFA Champions League last 16 already in the bag.
Group F has not been kind to the defending Russian Premier League champions, who have one point to show for their efforts and are guaranteed to finish bottom for the second straight year. Sergei Semak's continental strugglers ended a four-match winless run in all competitions by beating Ural 5-1 on Saturday, but have lost six of their seven games against German clubs, including home and away defeats to RB Leipzig in 2019/20. They are without a win in their last four home matches against Bundesliga opposition (D1, L3), and have won only two of 10 fixtures against German clubs in St Petersburg (D2 L6).
Defender Dejan Lovren - a 2018/19 Champions League winner with former club Liverpool - is a major doubt, but left-back Douglas Santos, who spent three years in Germany with Hamburg - should start at left-back. Sardar Azmoun is the club's nine-goal top scorer, closely followed by Russia national team captain Artem Dzyuba, who is struggling with a groin problem.
Zenit: Kerzhakov - Sutormin, Prokhin, Rakitskiy, Santos - Ozdoyev (c), Barrios, Yerokhin - Malcom, Azmoun, Driussi
Out: Chistyakov (ineligible)
Doubtful: Dzyuba (groin), Lovren (ill), Karavayev (muscular), Wendel (muscular)
Coach: Sergei Semak
Dortmund secured their place in the last 16 with a game to spare thanks to last week's 1-1 draw with Lazio. As long as they better second-placed Lazio's result against Club Brugge, BVB - currently on 10 points - will advance as Group F winners, in theory setting up a more favorable tie in the knockout rounds. Haaland has been Dortmund's standout player during the group stage with six goals in four appearances but missed the Lazio stalemate with a hamstring strain that is expected to keep him sidelined until the new year.
Captain Marco Reus led the line in his absence against the Italians, while Julian Brandt assumed false nine duties in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Eintracht Frankfurt. Another option at head coach Lucien Favre's disposal is 16-year-old Youssoufa Moukoko, who played the entire second half in Frankfurt. Should he feature, he'll become the Champions League's youngest debutant. Raphael Guerreiro could have a part to play after shaking off a knock, though Favre could opt to give Felix Passlack a run-out at left-wing-back. Mateu Morey is set to continue on the opposite flank in the absence of Thomas Meunier.
Dortmund: Bürki - Akanji, Can, Zagadou - Morey, Dahoud, Witsel (c), Passlack - Reyna, Brandt, Hazard
Out: Delaney (back), Haaland (muscular), Meunier (calf), Schmelzer (knee)
Doubtful: Reinier (not included), Schulz (knock)
Coach: Lucien Favre

Zenit will try hard to finish their European trip on high after disappointing in a group stage. Dortmund is in little crisis, against Lazio and Frankfurt they showed some signs of fatigue and lack of creativity. A goalscoring draw could be a satisfying result for both sides.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
